What can you do on the ship while in port?

On a short trip to the Bahamas don't really have any desire to get off the ship, are all the services, spa, gym, casinos open while we are docked?

Casinos aren't open when you are in port. Rest of the services should be available.

Ships will often offer spa specials while they are in port. Depending on the line, and legnth of time you will be in port, they will open the ships casino. On a cruise last year, the ship was scheduled to depart about 2am, they opened the casino at 9pm.

Carnival Imagination is at Nassau overnight, and the casino is open in the evening while still at the pier.

Shops and casino will be closed. Almost everything else (especially bars!) will be open!

We always fantasize that we're on our own private ship! love staying on the ship when we're in a port that we've explored before. if the weather cooperates, lazing by the pool with a choice of chairs and locations; eating a leisurely lunch and just relaxing is divine.

If your not interested in the port of call, these can be some of the best days to hang by the pool. You don't have as many to fight for loungers with, and it is typically quiter in general. On my recent cruise, we stayed on the ship for our Ocho Rios port call, and have done the same thing while docked at Nassau. Both awesome days on board.

If you're on a Princess ship, you can do laundry. Not a big issue on a short cruise, but if you've been traveling for days before (or doing a post-cruise stay), it is a must for many people.

When the ship is in port and we don't have a tour --we will get off the ship for awhile and walk around.

 

Once back on the ship we like to sit around and read.
