Hey Donna!!!!

Glad you and Morris had such a great cruise. I agree with Joan...brings back wonderful memories of our cruise last year...just wish it had been a western cruise rather than the eastern:rolleyes: Loved the review and the pics...you did a really nice and informative job. Makes me want to go on another cruise!!

If you are doing the Western Caribbean. I highly recommend Nachi Cocum Beach Resort in Cozumel. $49 a person; all inclusive drinks and food. The food was fantastic and the massage on the beach was the best massage I've ever had in my life!

Next time I go, I will def go there. I did attempt to make a reservation this time around but I never went through with paying. It was my parents and sister 1st time to Cozumel and they wanted to site-see and do some shopping, and we did not want to split up. NEXT TIME THOUGH!!!!!!

I agree with my fellow cruiser, Donna. The Lido deck was the place to be. We also had a balcony room #9279...wait, maybe it was 9729? I don't remember! LOL We used room service a few times and the service was great. I highly recommend the rueben sandwich from RS...so yummy! The service was very good no matter where you were on the ship. It's like everyone is there to please you and they do a very good job of it too! :)

YES, the Lido deck is fantastic. I was on the Empress deck this time around, but last year on the Conquest, I was in room 9208. I absolutely loved it. Down the hall from ALL the action. I also concur with Donna & Sheila. BOOK THE LIDO NOW!!!! Must book the Lido!

Great job Donna, I enjoyed reading every word and seeing every picture, we are leaving tomorrow (Thursday) on our trip to Houston and Galveston. Then headed out on the Conquest on Sunday for Key West & the Bahamas.

Hey Falls Cruiser, looks like we are neighbors. Funny story, a few years back we got to commucating with someone else from Wichita Falls (on Cruise Critic) and it turns out they live almost across the street from us. Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning all!:)

Thanks for cheering me on!! I like picture reviews the best, so I am trying to provide a review in the manner that I like to read. IMO, the reviews without pictures just don't hold my attention and I move on to the next. I'm so glad you like what I am doing, I will begin again shortly and please do not hesitate to ask questions. Two of my fellow roll call people (Sheila and Kathy) are also posting on here and we'd love to help anyone with any kind of question regarding the Conquest or the cruise in general.:)

Donna

Add me to the list as well!

It's a MUST DO, Andrae! My favorite place by far of all the excursions---cheapest too! I have a few pics of the food---oh my---it was to die for and the service was A+++ there! I'm trying to finally upload my pics to Photobucket this a.m. I can't find my memory stick to transfer over pics from my old laptop (the dinosaur..ROOOAAAAAAAAAR) so I'm giving Photobucket a try. Going to have my 2 yr old grandson with me here in a bit so I don't know if I'll get any pics or a review written today. Thinking about it though......

...and Good Morning to you guys as well; Donna, Sheila, & all of CC buddies! I loved the review Donna. Like the others have said, short and sweet and to the point. Loved the pictures as well. I'm a little flustered that I did not get to get a picture with you. I did however get a picture or two of Sheila. We were hanging out at the Casino bar before the big Mardi-Gras deck party. Sheila actually won the funky chicken competition; or was it the air guitar competition? I can't recall as I've slept since and I think I "really" need another DOD or two, or maybe like 6, so that I can recollect and regain consciousness. Either way, mama was getting it, ...with that hair slinging in places I'd never seen, and that funky mean mug look she had on her face. PRICELESS!!! Good times!

Anyway Donna, thanks for bringing back all the memories from that trip. It was truly the best cruise yet, and I'm hardly done yet. It was truly a pleasure to meet you and your DH, as well as Sheila and her DH, and a few others from CC that I've met. It was so surreal to actually meet face to face. You guys were actually "real" people, and not just someone on the other-side of the screen (if that makes sense). I hope that one day we can cruise together again. Maybe we can start our own CC group like the crazies, and we could be the "funky cruisers", or something to that nature. In the meantime, I know Donna and her DH are cruising the Victory during Halloween. How cool is that. I have book, along with my GF & another couple, have booked the Ecstasy the 1st week of December. We are also planning to book the Conquest yet again March 20, 2011.

Thank you Andrae'! It just goes to show that CC and roll calls do work. I use them all the time to plan our next cruise (s). The new friends you make are so special:)

Do you have the Capers or "fun times"??? I am going on the Conquest in September.

I really like the hotel you stayed at in Texas City I am thinking of doing that too, then we can drive our own car and not wait on a taxi or shuttle and be out about the same money as being in Galveston

Yes, of course I do, and they are still called "Carnival Capers".....

If you stay at our hotel get the King suite.....the prices of the hotels in Galveston were more than double what they normally run because of Mardi Gras.....

BAAHAHAHAHA, Andrae! Ya know what was REALLY funny about me actually doing that "air guitar" competition? I was TOTALLY sober! Just goes to show you what a nut I am even without drinking! Scary, huh! LOL I have pics of me doing and winning the air guitar contest. That skinny 22 yr old I was competing against had NOTHING on this ol' 52 yr old Grammy, now did she? :D

Yeah, I could be like the overweight Kathy Lee Gifford doing a Carnival Cruise commercial? Here is a video I didn't know the hubbs took of me (until I got home and looked at all the pics) on the first day right after we got into our cabin for the first time. I "think" I had about 4 drinks of the day (working on the 5th one---whew, they were STOUT) when he filmed me doing this crazy stuff. I have NO idea what possessed me or where the funky accent came from? Under the "influence" I guess? LOL Here's your LOTD (Laugh of the day)

Ok, what did I tell you guys, this was such a GREAT cruise, especially when you have wacky people like Sheila on-board for her first cruise!! Thanks for sharing!!! Over and out, mon:D

You're welcome, Elsie. Ask away if you have any questions. My suggestion for your first time cruisers is: Study the deck plans and know your way around the ship before boarding. Once on the ship---explore every floor on your first day at sea. I got lost so many times because I didn't study the deck plans. The ship has so much to offer and I missed half of it because of not knowing where everything was located. :(

Sounds like good advice. I'll have to do that, thanks for the tip, sorry you missed some things though.
