jstanokiegal Posted March 2, 2010 #27 Share Posted March 2, 2010 Elsie: We LOVED the LIDO deck, we are SO spoiled now!!! We were in Cabin 9238 on the Port side. The DH just walked out to the buffet area every morning for juice and coffee and brought it back to our cabin. We didn't use room service one time this cruise, because the Lido deck is so handy! I highly recommend it:D You are going to love it! Donna I agree with my fellow cruiser, Donna. The Lido deck was the place to be. We also had a balcony room #9279...wait, maybe it was 9729? I don't remember! LOL We used room service a few times and the service was great. I highly recommend the rueben sandwich from RS...so yummy! The service was very good no matter where you were on the ship. It's like everyone is there to please you and they do a very good job of it too! :)
jstanokiegal Posted March 2, 2010 #28 Share Posted March 2, 2010 great review ! .. nice to see a lil sooner love on here :D we leave 3-7-10 on conquest ...thanks for all the great pics ! If you are doing the Western Caribbean. I highly recommend Nachi Cocum Beach Resort in Cozumel. $49 a person; all inclusive drinks and food. The food was fantastic and the massage on the beach was the best massage I've ever had in my life!

Destiniiii Posted March 3, 2010 #33 Share Posted March 3, 2010 Thank you for your review. I never read the long reviews because they give me a headache after the first paragraph. But yours was right to the point and with pictures. It was like pictures with captions. Loved it.
ecpc1302 Posted March 3, 2010 #34 Share Posted March 3, 2010 Soonerone and Jstanokiegal Thanks for the encouragin' words about the Lido deck. We're looking forward to our cruise, we have some first time cruisers (all of us on Lido deck) going with us and we hope they enjoy cruising as much as we do. Loving your review especially the pics. I don't know how to download/upload pics, but maybe I can get help from my family so I can do a review with pics when we return. Crusin Karen Posted March 3, 2010 #35 Share Posted March 3, 2010 Great review! I love reviews with pictures! We have never been on a Conquest class ship. I read the book Cruise Confidential a few months ago which takes place on the Conquest. Debarked from the Dream in Nassau in November and who should be parked right next to us but the Conquest! :p Anxiosly awaiting the rest of the cruise! ;)

My suggestion for your first time cruisers is: Study the deck plans and know your way around the ship before boarding. Once on the ship---explore every floor on your first day at sea. I got lost so many times because I didn't study the deck plans. The ship has so much to offer and I missed half of it because of not knowing where everything was located. :(

I will be posting your picture later on in my review with your blessing, please advise:) Yeah, I "guess" it's ok to post my pic. I think you have one of me showing ALL of my chins? SoonerOne Posted March 3, 2010 Author #39 Share Posted March 3, 2010 Good Morning all!:) Thanks for cheering me on!! I like picture reviews the best, so I am trying to provide a review in the manner that I like to read. IMO, the reviews without pictures just don't hold my attention and I move on to the next. I'm so glad you like what I am doing, I will begin again shortly and please do not hesitate to ask questions. Two of my fellow roll call people (Sheila and Kathy) are also posting on here and we'd love to help anyone with any kind of question regarding the Conquest or the cruise in general.:) Donna

SoonerOne Posted March 3, 2010 Author #42 Share Posted March 3, 2010 Cozumel......ok so we are off the ship and admiring the beauty of the Carnival ships in port as well as the new pier.... And what do we spy, first thing? The Three Amigos restuarant, I had to get my picture taken of course! And this is where we sat and waited to meet up with our tour guide Patricio and our driver Pepe': Note: This pier was new to us, brand new. 2 years ago when we arrived we docked at the pier right in downtown Cozumel. This area has lots of brand new shops and people were already drinking foo-foo drinks and smoking cigars at 10:00 am at Three Amigos! Don't you just love vacation? Anyway, I digress, we form 2 lines and follow our guide out to big air-conditioned buses to board and begin our Mayan tour. After a little drive to the outskirts of Cozumel we arrive at our destination.
SoonerOne Posted March 3, 2010 Author #43 Share Posted March 3, 2010 I am not going to bore you with a lot of ruin pictures, just leave it to say, our guide was part Mayan and he was so enthusiatic about the ruins and very informative. That's him up front in the red shirt. And it was still drizzling, off and on, so the DH took this pic without my knowledge, lovely....thanks dear....:p After that, it finally cleared up and we headed back to town and had our driver drop us off downtown for some shopping and then we took a taxi back to our pier, cost $7, don't pay anymore than that per the locals. SoonerOne Posted March 3, 2010 Author #44 Share Posted March 3, 2010 We went back and boarded the ship after a great day in Cozumel and sadly only had one more sea day before our magical cruise was over... On Saturday we had another sun day on the Lido deck and I looked forward to our last meal in the MDR. Well, the DH decided he didn't want to go so he got a couple of sandwiches from the Deli. Not me though! We had made new friends at the big table next to ours and I wanted to be able to see them one last time. I met my CC friend Sheila as I made my way through the Casino and she joined me for dinner.....this is my new friend Sheila: And here is Sheila with our great head waiter: Our waiter singing with his ketchup microphone: Our new friends at the table next to us, hi ya Nana! Our cute girls from San Antonio, we loved them!!!! They are single, guys;)
SoonerOne Posted March 3, 2010 Author #45 Share Posted March 3, 2010 Me with our new found friends and waiters: The waiters singing their "good bye" song to us: And another, they were so AWESOME!!! You just can't imagine the "energy" until you experience this, it was wonderful, thanks SO much to our Carnival waiters, you guys and gals rocked!!!! SoonerOne Posted March 3, 2010 Author #46 Share Posted March 3, 2010 Ok, summation of our "embarkation day" Sunday.....well, guess what??? That NASTY FOG rolled in, yikes:eek: and we sat for at least 6 hours on-board out in the Gulf of Mexico before we could head in. That was the only hiccup of the entire cruise. All of their nicely planned embarking zone plans went down the tubes. We decided at noon to drag our bags (we did the self-assist) down to the first floor to wait. We finally made it in around 2:00 pm and the DH and I were the 13th and 14th off the ship. We grabbed a porter, sailed through customs and on to EZ cruise to pick up the car. We had a long drive ahead of us and didn't make it home until 9:30 pm that night. We were exhausted, but happy with another Carnival cruise under our belts:D I hope you enjoyed my review, I'm happy to answer any questions for you.
