jstanokiegal Posted March 4, 2010 #128 Share Posted March 4, 2010 Wow, more reviews! WTG, Andrae! So lovin' the food pics!!! They're making me sooooo hungry and I'm back on my "after cruise" low-fat/no salt diet. UGH! I'm so hungry I could eat a piece of sheetrock (drywall, as non rednecks call it) slathered in Velveeta cheese! Wouldn't my cardiologist love me? ;) Your pics are fantastic!!! Especially the one of you and me together! :D I'm surprised you didn't entitle that pic, "Air Guitar Grammy and Hunka Hunka Burnin' Love"??!!?? Dang, I missed out on the Conga line? Your mom and I would have had a HOOT! I think I played out after winning the air guitar contest? Nah, I think that was the day/night I discovered you could buy an under advertised "drink card" for $23 for 5 drinks of the day (which were usually $7.45 a piece) and decided to christen the card at the casino bar. Joey, my favorite bartender, always made them for me in the BIG Carnival glasses (you were only allowed ONE of those a day, after that you were "supposed" to get little glasses). I miss me some Joey---he was adorable and oh so cute and sweet! New friends! Robbie and Suzanne from NE, Mark from LA, Rhatanda and Joey (our bartenders) and Air Guitar Grammy---ME! My favorite bartender--Joey from the Philippines. I left him a "HEFTY" tip after finding out the employees don't get free internet on the ship. Now he'll be able to Skype and Yahoo messenger with his wife and kids more! :D
jstanokiegal Posted March 4, 2010 #129 Share Posted March 4, 2010 WOW, do I do a good review or WHAT????;) I have my own review "TEAM":p Thanks for adding Andrae'!!!!:) Ok, now where's Sheila, GOOD MORNING SHEILA!!!:D GOOD MORNING EVERYONE! I'm here--but my internet is lagging this a.m. (Oh JOY!) Having a tough time getting Photobucket to cooperate with me. Maybe their server is slow since everyone is on there trying copy and paste pics on Cruise Critic message boards? LOL Maybe I'll try a "reboot" and see if that speeds things up? Hope everyone is having a marvey day so far! I'm blogging and cleaning house. Just finished mopping the kitchen tile and it's OH SO LEMON PINE-SOLLY smelling in here! LOVE IT! I wish they'd make candles that smell like lemon Pine-Sol...then I wouldn't have to mop so often just to get that smell goin' on! LOL Now...to change mop bucket water over to Murphy's oil soap for the wood floors in my office, dining room and den! I must have SFCS (spring fever cleaning syndrome) this a.m.????? Oh well, at least I'm getting my work out in for the day---mopping! Hopefully I won't get overcome with fumes of cleaning products! Be back in a bit........ Notice I typed all of that in Cayman Island turquoise blue water color? I'll NEVER forget that beautiful water! *sigh*
jstanokiegal Posted March 4, 2010 #130 Share Posted March 4, 2010 This was taking with the Captain in the Bridge during the behind the fun tour. *Huff puff* Puff huff* Office is mopped! WOW, Andrae! This was the Captain of the ship? I visited with him "several" times (he was VERY friendly) and NEVER knew he was the captain of the ship??? I need to learn to be more observant and read people's name tags??? Wow, I am amazed that I talked to the captain numerous times and never caught on! *thud* If he was out and about SO much, who the heck was manning the ship?????????????????? Wow, I am amazed that I talked to the captain numerous times and never caught on! *thud* If he was out and about SO much, who the heck was manning the ship?????????????????? The auto-pilot was manning the ship lol. We learned on our tour that the ship is in auto-pilot 95% of the cruise. The captain as well as the officers work non-stop 4 hours on, 8 hours off. Yes, the captain was an extremely nice guy.

The captain as well as the officers work non-stop 4 hours on, 8 hours off. Yes, the captain was an extremely nice guy. WOW! Very informative, Andrae!!! 95% of the time on auto-pilot? Maybe that's why deck 5 was swaying to and fro (hearing, "Don't rock the boat, baby!" in my head) so much. There were a few nights I really thought I was going to be seasick because of the rocking motion. It couldn't have been too many drinks, ya think? We were in the theater a couple of nights watching entertainment (in fact one night we WERE the entertainment on stage...HA!) and man...just watching that metallic curtain swaying back and forth with the motion of the ship was about more than I could handle. The rocking seemed much worse on the lower floors than it did on Lido....or was it just me? Did you learn anything about the motion of the boat being worse closer to the water? Hmmmm......pondering! The captain as well as the officers work non-stop 4 hours on, 8 hours off. Yes, the captain was an extremely nice guy. And...to be honest. I thought the guy was the dr. on the ship, not the captain. BAHAHAHA! He reminded me of my personal physician, so I guess that's why I thought he was the dr. and looking me over like I needed some medical care? I don't know WHAT would have made him think that? *gasp* But...you're correct, VERY friendly guy---walked right up and asked me where I was from, "I said Lido deck". LOL He said, "No, where do you live?" I said, "OH!!!!!!!! I live in Oklahoma!" (and NO, I'm not a real blonde) We both died laughing and we were buds from them on. hot cocoa Posted March 4, 2010 #134 Share Posted March 4, 2010 Here's a few from Cayman.... Lets go swim with the Dolphins There were 4 cruise ships in port Whole fried jerk Red Snapper... It was $15 a plate, but I would've paid $50. This was the best food I've had in my life. It was sold right on the strip as you get into Cayman at a tent. Fresh from the locals. Postcard ready. Absolutely stunning. Beautiful water. fresh coconut milk from the local. Andrae, Do you remember what else was on your snapper plate? It looks so good, it makes me hungry just looking at it. I'm all about the food!!:D

Sheila, tell me more about this under advertised drink card. and what bar does work? i might christen him to be my bartender before i even get on the boat! Well, what I call the under advertised drink card is available (I think) at any of the places on the ship serving alcoholic drinks. I bought mine up on the Lido deck at the bar there. I spotted a sign that was advertising the drink cards, went to get all of my friends and show them the sign......went back and the sign was GONE. So....being the bold person I am I said, "Hey, wasn't there a sign here a few minutes ago advertising a drink card for 5 drinks of the day?" He said, "Yes, there was, I took it down." I replied, "Oh, was it just a special for today and it's already over?" He said, "No, they're good for every day you're on the ship." (I was thinking..."COOL!!!!!") He also told me if you just wanted to one drink a day with the card (they punch your card each time you use it) you could do that also. First drink of the day you will get the traditional Carnival plastic glass, the drinks used on your card after that are smaller drinks....unless you just get one drink a day...then they are the bigger ones. I'm sorry I don't recall what they called the drink card. I gave mine away to some friends the last night of the cruise because they were still drinking and I wasn't and had 3 punches on the card remaining. My sweet little bartender would even exchange out the DOD card and let me order a margarita if I wanted. He was an excellent bartender. Joey works in the Tahiti Lounge Bar (aka the casino bar) on the 5th floor. (I don't remember the name of that deck, sorry) Anyway---you can use the drink card at any of the bars and even in the theater. I'm trying to find my print out of our bar tab and see if I can find the exact amount for you. I'm thinking it was $23 for 5 drinks of the day, but had to pay gratuity too. I'll post it if I can find the amount. :) I highly recommend Joey---such a sweet kid---have him show you pics of his wife and children-------beautiful family and his wife is expecting another baby soon. He was so fun and entertaining---a real sweetheart with a fantastic personality. It was not my idea to hang out in the casino bar every night, but my hubby likes to gamble and most of our new friends hung out there so we'd meet them there almost every night. So--if I wanted to see/keep track of my hubby I had to hang out there. I guess that's why I got to know the bartender so well! BAHAHAHA!

LOL The card is called "Fun Ship Card", $23.00 +$3.45 gratuity--Total was $26.45 for 5 DOD's. It (and probably many others) were purchased at the Sun Pool Bar #114 and is on the Lido deck. I'm all about the food!!:D The red snapper was deep fried whole. Once cooked, they drizzled some homemade jerk sauce then topped with sauteed onions and carrot sticks. It was not spicy but very well seasoned. It also came with corn fritters and hush puppies. We did order some jerk chicken and jerk pork as well. Those plates came with macaroni & cheese with red beans and rice along with the fritters.

jstanokiegal Posted March 4, 2010 #143 Share Posted March 4, 2010 Your fans are calling for more pictures:rolleyes:, surely you have more??? I only have 871 pics!!!!! PLUS videos! Photobucket is not wanting to cooperate with my computer today for some reason, but I'll give it a try here in a bit. Until then...YouTube is working with me today---here's a small clip of my hubby trying to make "brownie points" with me the night after he ruined our anniversary/Valentine's celebration that didn't happen? LOL Bitter sweet! He almost experienced my new meaning for "Cruisin' for a BRUISIN'!" Shhhhh---I'm still trying to find it in my heart to forgive him, but don't tell him! By the way---he NEVER sings to me, so this was pretty shocking! Here are the lyrics (with my added comments) since I didn't get the whole song on video. ALL OF ME All of me Why not take all of me (I don't want ALL of you) Can't you see (No, I don't have my glasses on!) That I'm no good without you (Don't ya know it, buster!!!!!) Take my arms I'll never use them (You won't have them when I'm done with 'ya!) Take my lips I want to lose them (I bet you want to lose them. I should've slapped them off when you said those horrible things to be last night on OUR anniversary!) Your goodbye Left me with eyes that cry (Oh brother---no words for this phrase, just a major *eyeroll*) And I know that I Am no good without you (Bahahaha) You took the part That once was my heart (WHAT? Really!?! You HAVE a heart??) So why not take all of me (Because I can't lift you over the balcony???) Baby, take all of me (To da curb??? Gladly!) See why I should start my own review, Donna? I need to get this anger out of me! BAHAHAHA We were like the "soap opera of the ship" to those that knew what was going on "behind the scenes". So folks, now you know a tiny bit of the story. All I know to do now is just make fun of it and laugh about it. Enjoy "As The Ship Sinks"...our version of a soap opera on a cruise ship.
