CEO Gerry Cahill losing confidence with Joe Farcus?

Try Liberty if you're looking for a different feel, most of the public areas are done in a Tuscan theme. Her interiors were some of the most light and subdued I have seen on a Carnival ship. There were some exceptions, like in her disco (giant arms with tattoos!), but for the most part she was tasteful. I felt the same about the Spirit, but her interiors were darker.

Agree Darth. Still think as previously mentioned that the Dream is way subdued. Loved the 5th floor.

I have been on seveal Carnival ships. I was so happy when Corporate listened to all the jokes about the MDR on Miracle and toned down the light covers.

They now sort of resemble grape clusters. Not a Pepto Bismol Bottle that exploded all over the ceiling. Before they re-painted the light covers were such a bright pink that they overpowered the decorative grapevines.

Carnival corporate must listen to what passengers have to say.

The fact that we are discussing here kind of says that got their desired result....;)

Carnival needs some class fashioned after The Bellagio in Las Vegas.

You mean it needs to look like every other non-Native American casino that's been built since 1995? (Or I'm just a compulsive gambler who's managed to mash all the casinos I've ever been in into one in my mind.)

I've only been to Foxwoods in CT and Soaring Eagle in MI. Both were very, very heavy on Native American themes.

Wait ... I lie ... I went to the Seminole Casino in Tampa before they turned operations over to the Hard Rock folks. That was very ... steel quonset hut and high-stakes bingo. Never lost so much money so fast in my life.

Foxwoods does inside but outside (other than the teepee) looks like any other casino. Mohegan Sun is another story....very native american (and nicer IMHO)

You are correct sir. My memory is faulty. I haven't hit Turning Stone yet, or Seneca up on the Canadian border (why bother when you can cross over and play for Canadian money?)

My company has worked with Carnival, Celebrity, RCCL for their interiors.. and I can assure you.. that no matter what Farcus has done for Carnival.. the person writing the check gets the final say over the designer..

Perhaps Carnival is just shifting the brand image up a bit ;)
