Elite pressing, cleaning and laundry?

May these freebies be used at any time during our cruise? I have read some comments about bag of laundry is to be used only at a certain time during a cruise, like the last 3 days. We will be on a 10 night cruise and would probably like to use the laundry and cleaning mid-cruise, while using the pressing on the first day.

You can use the elite coupons anytime during the cruise. The laundry cannot be used on either the last or last two nights, I do not remember for sure. The "bag of laundry" special that is only at a certain time is a stuff the bag special open to all.

We are on a European vacation this summer with a cruise in the centre of our vacation; my understanding from the information on this thread is the ship will do a "bag of laundry" for us if we request. Any idea of cost involved or the turn around time for the laundry?

Now with airline luggage weight restrictions, we are limited in what items to bring. This info will help for packing

We were Elite on last cruise and our laundry could be sent anytime up to the last two days of the cruise. We did a bag (30 pieces) mid-cruise and another bag near the end. We also had two items dry cleaned. Great "perk". Came home with very few dirty clothes.

I would bet that your Canadian friends weren't able to use the coupons because when they are sent to the laundry, their room is on the slip and when checked they would not have been listed as Elite.

Perks are great. They don't want you to use them the last 3 days of the cruise because they want to make sure you have them back in time to take home.

Because of this perk, we pack less knowing the dirties will get cleaned and can be worn again.

Beware of this:

On our last cruise on the EQ (11 days) we did 2 bags (60 items) on the 7th day of the cruise.

They stick to the one or two ironings per cruise per person.

I got 2 shirts ironed. The remainder of our clothes were so wrinkled they could not be worn. They said I will have to pay separate for pressing so I had little choice.

Makes no sense to me to do laundry and not get everything right.

I couldnt let myself or my wife wear something so wrinkled and stiff.

And no irons allowed to render this situation right.

This is my favorite Elite perk, though DH might disagree.

The laundries do a beautiful job, and it is great to pack just half as much as we would need otherwise.

Yes, especially if you are both Elite. I just attained my Elite status, but on the last cruise (13 days) we only had one Elite coupon (wifey). We sent in 30 "large" items (shirts/pants/sweatshirts, and the like) with the free coupon, then stuffed in the "all you can fit into the bag coupon for $20" with small stuff like socks and underwear. It worked out, but now with 2 Elite coupons, should take care of everything.

Not really. I think everyone used the coupons and had no problems.

The only one I used was the dry clean the tux after the first formal night.

I wish they had some 2 for 1 drink special you could use like the bet coupons in the casino.

Are the coupons in your cabin when you board? Do you turn the laundry/dry cleaning coupons over to Guest Services or does the coupon accompany the dirty clothes when you turn it in?

There's a sheet or sheets of coupons in your stateroom when you first board. There are some directions on what to fill out on the cleaning slip, attach the coupon, then you give it to your stateroom attendant in the AM. It comes back the next day.
