what is the latest you can get off the ship?

Our ship is due back in Miami at 8am. We have a late flight so no need to rush off the boat.

 

How late can we stay on the ship before they make us walk the plank? :D

You can stay all the way til they call the last section or "zone" to come off the ship...Id say average would be 10am to 11am at the lastest...

When we were on the Freedom last July we were in the last section to be called. We were in no hurry and just lounged in the seats across from the Casino until they called our section. It seemed like we were some of the last ones out. We ended up getting off around 10:30.

We had the area across from the Casino pretty much to ourselves after breakfast. We just relaxed and played some Euchre until they call us to get off.

I just got off the Legend last Sunday. Extremely quick debarkation...we were the last ones off the ship and that was at 9:30 a.m. They were not too happy we were still there and actually had to call Security with a heads up that there was 4 of us still on the ship and took our cabin number. We also had a late flight out of Tampa and it was pouring rain so there was not much for us to see. After lunch we just went to the airport and spent the day....not a lot of fun sitting in the airport until 8 p.m.!

Got off the Paradise Monday and the CD said numerous times, "Everyone will be off the ship by 10am". I was off by 9 and home in San Diego by a little after 11.. Back to the real world:rolleyes:

Im impressed. in 13 cruises I have never heard that someone was allowed to stay in the cabin til their color/number was called.

 

 

Usually you gotta be out by 9:00 at the latest.

Nthing is opened. (a cash bar--maybe the photo place to buy your last minute photos.)

They will want you off the ship by 10am at the latest because by 1045am the next load of people will be boarding!!!!

 

I wish I could hang out and wait, alas, my next cruise I need to be off and on a bus heading for FLL airport for a noon flight......

 

The latest I was off was 1015am it took at last 30-45 minutes to get thorugh customs...I had a 1:45pm flight out of Miami and made it to the gate with only 45 minutes until the plane was to leave....

Yep. We were on that cruise as well, wow that was lousy weather to come home to!! We had a 4PM flight, so some Tampa friends came by, we tossed our luggage into their SUV, then toured the Florida Aquarium. Nice facility.

 

We'd looked into other options as well. There is a facility for storing luggage right there at the port, $20/couple. Just FYI for future use.

IMHO, We would just not feel right about staying on the ship until the last possible moment knowing that it is going to inconvenience the staff. They want everyone off, so they can ready the cabins and the ship for the next set of crusiers. I would want to give that same courtesy to those that disembarked the ship for me in a timely fashion, so I could get on the ship early and enjoy the Lido lunch and a nice sail-away DOD. :) There are plenty of places to "extend-time" and not inconvenience the staff and the next set of crusiers wanting to get on the ship. After all, others are waiting to start their vacations too. :)

Woops, sorry, forgot to add this part and missed the edit time-line: I would just suggest to stay until your number is called to disembark and don't push it any longer. Like another poster said, there wont be all that much to do. Wishing you a great cruise with warm weather. :)

We left the doors to both the cabins open and the steward knew we were in there. We told him to kick us out at anytime we did not want to get in the way of what he needed to get done. We were the 2 most forward cabins and he was working his way down, so we were the last cabins for him to get to. I would never disrespect anyone who works as hard as they do to get a job done....

 

In the other 5 cruises we had been on we had got kicked WAY earlier than that...so I do not expect to be in the cabin that late on our up coming cruise. It was the easiest debarkation ever:)

I have no intention of overstaying our welcome in terms of our poor cabin steward waiting for us to go.

 

I was just curious though, how late we'd be able to stay. All of my prior cruises, we've had earlier flights we needed to catch, so we didn't have "the luxury" of leisurely getting off the ship.

 

We haven't decided yet whether or not we are going the post-cruise Miami excursion. We may choose to do this, since it includes transportation to FLL (where our flight is) and we won't have to either A) be stuck in the airport all day with nothing to do, or B) figure out something to do while somehow keeping track of our luggage.

 

So this question might be a moot point anyhow. :p

Don't be selfish and stay to the very last second. You make it harder on staff and remember there is a group waiting outside to get on! Remember how you felt when you wanted to get on the ship and start enjoying your cruise. There is nothing open so waiting here or waiting there really is no big advantage.

But if there is always a line, what's the harm of being the last one it. Your not going to make the line go any faster by getting in it earlier than you have to. We were in the last section called. We waited until they called our section and were one of the last ones in line. It was extremely easy to find our luggage and going through customs was a breeze (even with DL and BC only).

Amen to that.....That is why we stay on...I have to drive home not fly. After waiting in a HUGE line on previous cruises to get off the ship...then fighting through a crowd to find my luggage.....then waiting with our bags to get through customs...i decided this time to wait on the ship....My steward did not mind we were in the room and I asked him to say something if we needed to go.....
