Captains Club Points

For those of you who have been CC members for a few years. In 2006 I was on the Mercury to the Mexican Riviera for 10 days. I was under the impression that Celebrity was giving 2 pts. for a 10 day cruise at that time. I know that now you need a 12 day cruise for 2 pts..but didn't they change that a few years ago????

Help me out. This will put me to Elite status if I get that one more point. I have called CC and the girl I talked to said they have never given 2 pts. for a 10 day cruise. But I know that I have not always been given the correct information when I have talked to them before.

Please help me.

Thanks!!

Just curious if I can add my points from Royal Caribbean to gain Elite status on our first -X-cruise?

Sorry! :( You can't add them together. You will need 10 cruise credits on EITHER one to be Elite or Diamond.

They don't combine, but if you have ten cruise credits (Diamond status) with RCCL you are automatically Elite on X. If you have nine RCCL points, sailing on X won't get you to Diamond/Elite status.

If you are already Diamond with Royal Caribbean, then you will be recognized as Elite on Celebrity on your first sailing. You do have to call Celebrity's Captain's Club program to enroll before your sailing (the phone number is on Celebrity's website). Both Royal and Celebrity grant reciprocity with one another once you are at least at the mid-level tier (i.e. if you are platinum with Royal, you will be Select with Captain's Club and visa versa). However you can not add the credits between the two lines (i.e. 7 credits with Royal and 3 with Celebrity does not give you 10 total credits).

dotsofunn, we were on an 11 day cruise to the Med in 2005 and only got 1 credit for the cruise and 1 for CC booking. Only one credit for sailings of below 12 days.

We are in same situation on our upcoming cruise. Only one credit short from being Elite status.

Sorry.

We cruised B2B 10 and 11 nights (total 21 nights) in 2006 and only recieved 2 credits for the total nights. I asked about an extra credit as we would have received 3 for three 7 night cruises and they said no, only 2 credits - 2 cruises, neither cruise was enough nights seperately for 2 credits.

In reference to the three above posters, the program with extra credits was not instituted until after your cruises and it was not retroactive....

This is a little off topic, but I feel a little cheated after paying 100% single supplement on one 7 day and one 13 day cruise. I feel like I should have 3 extra points given the fact I actually paid the full cruise fare for an extra person.

The extra credits for cruises of 12 nights or more was instituted in 2002 or early 2003. (we received 2 credits for our 14 night transatlantic in Oct. 2003 but not for the one in Sept 2001), The reason the previous three posters did not receive more credits is because their cruises were less than 12 nights.

We are now D+,24, with RCL. We have been on Celebrity as Diamond/Elete. Are there any other perks on Celebrity for D+ ?

Until Celebrity comes up with another tier the Elite is as high as you go. Too bad there isn't one yet because we have about 35 with Celebrity. :)

Elite perks are better than Diamona Plus as well as Diamond on RCI! Unless you just want that extra 1.5 hours of free drinks. I am so looking forward to the 90 minutes free internet for each of us, the free pressing, dry cleaning and laundry, and the special breakfast in Michael's Club. Then there are coupons for free wine-tasting and some other goodies. Add to that the 2 bottles of wine allowed and the smoke-free casino. Wow!

If you have 20 cruise credits with Celebrity are you Diamond Plus in RCCL?

No, you are only Diamond....that's a high as you can go because Celebrity doesn't have a corresponding tier to Diamond+.

Crown & Anchor Diamond+ is after 24 cruise credits on Royal Caribbean. No other way to move up to the highest tier except by earning those 24 cruise credits on Royal Caribbean cruises.

Shame, because Celebrity Elite is much beter than RCL Diamond anyway.

Yes, Celebrity has finally come up with decent perks for the Captain's Club....especially the new Elite perks. We used up the internet minutes and the drycleaning/laundry coupons.....and loved going to Michaels Club for mimosas and lattes in the morning and before dinner drinks in the evening. Those are REAL perks! :D

Add to that the 2 bottles of wine allowed...

A small nit to pick-- Princess does allow one bottle of wine per person. Since most cruisers sail as a couple, they do, in effect, allow two bottles of wine. Less for solo cruisers, but more if you have three or four (or more) per stateroom.

Well, we are paying to take our grandchildren on a cruise in Aqua but we do not get their 2 points each they do. They don't care about getting them, and even though we are paying we can't get them. It is "just the rules of the game". Just like a few years back, we paid for my mother and aunt to be in CC on a cruise, and they got 2 points each. Neither of them will EVER cruise again, but they are their points, even though we paid. Just the way the cookie crumbles. Or what we get for being nice.;)
