I'm getting ready to set sail on the Mariner today. I keep hearing how cold it can be the first day and last to days at sea due to wind. Is there a spot on the ship I can lay out and be blocked or reduce the effect of the wind? Thanks!

Usually those spots are taken quickly. I've never sailed Mariner out of CA, but have exp. this problem in the Caribbean many times. Good Luck and happy cruising!

The wind is worse near the railing...the closer to the middle of the deck you get, the less wind you'll feel!

There is often less wind toward the back where there is a wind screen. Stay away from open corners as the wind really whistles around there.

The solarium is enclosed around the sides (open on top), though the sunning is probably not that great in there.

Yes, much less wind in Solarium. Sit in the middle for sun.
