waldocruiser1 Posted April 5, 2010 #1 Share Posted April 5, 2010 I am wondering if anyone else orders an extra dinner appetizer or entrée to share with the table if anyone wants to try something new? That way you are not wasting allot of food.
Upandadam Posted April 5, 2010 #2 Share Posted April 5, 2010 Not really, but that's a great idea.

yogi2929 Posted April 5, 2010 #4 Share Posted April 5, 2010 We tried to do that once and the waiter had the plate divided for us.
mm24fan Posted April 5, 2010 #5 Share Posted April 5, 2010 I thought I read in one of these threads somewhere that you can order more than one appetizer (or even main dish) if you feel like it.
lillian marie Posted April 6, 2010 #6 Share Posted April 6, 2010 We do this and it's never been a problem. I'm not a big eater and my husband orders more items, like 2 shrimp cocktails and I get a couple shrimp. You can order whatever you'd like and as much as you'd like. jordanaire Posted April 6, 2010 #7 Share Posted April 6, 2010 Absolutely! When you live in a "Pop Tart & TV Dinner World", it's great to try things you're not accustom to. We do it every cruise, every dinner. :cool:Bill
CruizinMom2c Posted April 6, 2010 #8 Share Posted April 6, 2010 We always order extra stuff...my husband eats like 4 shrimp cocktails :)
SWPSquared Posted April 6, 2010 #9 Share Posted April 6, 2010 Yep. We do that when there's something we like, but don't want to stuff ourselves with. Or just to try, like the Escargot :) I think on our last cruise, we ended up ordering things "for the table" - we'd all kind of pass things around so we could try more. SummerXU Posted April 6, 2010 #10 Share Posted April 6, 2010 My friend and I did this every night during our cruise on the Liberty in October. She would order whatever appetizer she wanted and I would order whatever one I wanted. Then we'd order the shrimp cocktail to split between us. That way you are not wasting allot of food. Never thought of it like that. I just order an extra and if I like it, I eat it too, if not, I just eat the one I knew I would like:D
Traveler353 Posted April 6, 2010 #12 Share Posted April 6, 2010 I cruise solo, which means I pay a single supplement. On some cruises I pay as much as two people pay. If I want to try something new I order it. If I don't like it I don't eat it. No guilt what so ever.;)
cb at sea Posted April 6, 2010 #13 Share Posted April 6, 2010 Folks do that ALL the time...order what you wish...
golfadj Posted April 6, 2010 #14 Share Posted April 6, 2010 I might share with DW but never with the table. I fgiure let the table order its own food.
Froufie Posted April 6, 2010 #15 Share Posted April 6, 2010 Have done that a few times - when I wanted to just 'taste' something as did others at the table - so we ordered one dish to pass around. Of course if I am ordering something 'known' off the menu and can't decide I have been known to order more than one appetizer:D (or dessert!!!) poobears Posted April 6, 2010 #16 Share Posted April 6, 2010 We always get a table for 2 so the only person to share with is DH. Heck no I don't share, he can get his own LOL I never order extras but if I don't like something I make DH eat at least some of it so the waiter doesn't repeatedly ask what's wrong, dont' you like the food.......... CanWeGoYet? Posted April 6, 2010 #18 Share Posted April 6, 2010 We didn't order an extra dish, but one of my tablemates & I conspired on what dessert to order so we could trade half of it - we thought 2 of the desserts looked great but didn't want to order 2 each. Celandine Posted April 6, 2010 #19 Share Posted April 6, 2010 on my last cruise with my dad, we both wanted an entrée and to try the ribs one night. We ordered them, and it was HUGE...we ended up sharing that with another guy at our table. It helps to have awesome table mates, like we did :)
