VolFanForever Posted July 9, 2014 #1302 Share Posted July 9, 2014 How long do the shows last on the Fantasy? We have 8:15 dining so i'm wondering if we have time to go to a show beforehand. And will we be able to get a seat to a show after dinner. Also, how long does dinner last if you have a set dinner time? Thanks so much...first cruise...so excited!:p

Thanks so much...first cruise...so excited!:p Shows last boutanhour as they say down here  This is a link to the last five day Fun Times I have from November 2013 and it will give you an idea of what is when for first timers. http://ppl.ug/f8eqsYRAUgI/ OBTW welcome !!! The "Fun Times" tells you what's going on when on-board so you can plan your day, if you're type A, or just let it happen, if your are type Z  It is delivered every night while you are at dinner to your stateroom for planning the next day's activities. You'll find it there with your turned down bed and chocolates on your pillows. There are not only shows in the main lounge but live standup comedy shows at the club aft. The comedy shows fill up fast as that lounge is much smaller than the one in the front of the ship. Bring a highlighter so you can mark the things you "Have" to do, or don't want to miss. Guess I should add that dinner takes boutanhour as well. There is entertainment in the dining rooms as well, some nights where the waitstaff sings and dances. Staying for these shows isn't mandatory and you're allowed to leave if you have appointments elsewhere. Just be considerate to your table mates and explain that "it isn't them"! Cheers Edited July 10, 2014 by tip.n.ring Adding time for dining in her question

BBLLW03 Posted July 10, 2014 #1305 Share Posted July 10, 2014 Hi tip.n.ring... haven't been on this forum in a bit... thought I would check in and first thing I saw was the pic of our group from the cabin crawl. I just got off the Glory last Saturday and have 2 cruises coming up on the Breeze in November. I won the slot tournament on the Glory so I have a seat at the big tournament on Nov 8th so I decided to do another B2B. Hope you are doing well! bobsfamily Posted July 10, 2014 #1306 Share Posted July 10, 2014 Do they require closed toed shoes because of the galley tour, maybe in case a pot might fall on your toe? Yep, that is exactly why, that and possibly some scalding water... You do spend (depending on the ship) about 30 minutes in the galley including a few of you making your own dessert in the form of melting chocolate cake. Bob, is it cheaper to do the Behind the Fun on the smaller ships? Do you know how much it is? Oh, and thanks for the coffee the other day! :)
bobsfamily Posted July 10, 2014 #1308 Share Posted July 10, 2014 (edited) Bob, is it cheaper to do the Behind the Fun on the smaller ships? Do you know how much it is? Oh, and thanks for the coffee the other day! :) I've been told that the Fantasy is $55 versus $95 for the "behind the fun tour" on larger ships, such as the Dream. You get a "special baseball cap, lanyard, photo with the captain... visit the galley, bridge, parts of the engine room, backstage. Many years ago (way to many) I did a tour of the engine room, in a TUX. It was the Mardi Gras and we were in Nassau til 3 (or 4) am. I got back to the ship around 1ish from the Crystal Palace (before Atlantis) and was wandering the ship in the tux and got to talking with a crew member (I was a bit "toasty"). It turned out the "crew member" was the head officer of the engine room... next thing I know I am down in the bottom of the ship drinking 50 year old scotch out of old jelly glasses and watching his crew try to manhandle some huge piece of equipment into place so we can leave port... grease all over me and my wife Mad as Heck when I showed up in the cabin 2 hours late. That Tux never made it off the ship. The chef's table is $75 and includes the galley tour and a wonderful dinner including all you can drink wine... I don't usually drink wine but by gosh I did that night, and paid for the next morning! The food was great but a bit on the long side. We did it on the Sensation and it was over 4 hours total. Great for once but I think I would do the behind the fun tour before doing the chef's table again. And you are welcome! Always happy to see another smiling CC'er! Email me... I have tried the yellow and blue make green but my "Hi-Lighter" brands just make a mess of that. What I would recommend is that all the players put a star, marking its importance, next to the activity. Most stars win. Unless it's jewelery then you know you lose! Nice to hear from you again. OBTW Carnival Sunshine has bands! TTFN, Cheers :)

Would still be cruising out of Charleston at least every other month if Music Degree or Music Boardwalk were still onboard:cool: The only time we looked at the Fun Times was to see when and where the bands were playing and when the casino was opening:eek: Pink

But there's a great deli in the back for MTO sandwiches! Pizza is OK IMHO. But hotdogs are great on the grill!

funinthesun1964 Posted July 22, 2014 #1321 Share Posted July 22, 2014 In January, it was on the last sea day. That is a good day for it, since I believe we are in port both days until 5pm. Although, I have had VIFP parties on a port day and we barely got back in time. Thanks!
velmasue Posted July 22, 2014 #1322 Share Posted July 22, 2014 Are cabins close to the elevators on the Upper deck noisy? We have not found those type of rooms noisy on other cruise ships, but didn't know if the smaller ship would make a difference.

Nikki in NC Posted July 22, 2014 #1325 Share Posted July 22, 2014 We've had 2 cabins by the upper deck aft elevator....one on port and one on starboard and never had a noise issue. In fact, they were both the most convenient cabins we ever had. Very easy to get to the aft dining room, buffet, serenity deck, and lido pool area.
