I won $7,500 playing penny Quick Hits on the Carnival Splendor... was my first jackpot was long overdue. It was late, and I was a bit ti...okay, no, I was drunk. It was a very sobering experience. :) I wasn't even looking at the screen when it happened - was talking to the person next to me. Fun, fun!

That talk about the blackjack hand and splitting reminded me of a hand I saw once on a ship. Mow, I normally don't care what other people do at the table since it has little if any effect on my hand. But I couldn't help myself on this hande. The player in No. 1 postition was eealt a pair of 5's. The dealer got a 6 up. So what did the player do? He split them. Yeah and he caught 2 picture cards and lost both hands.

A few years ago on a Carnival cruise to Mexico, I bought in at a $25 Blackjack table with $100 just to kill some time while my gf was getting ready for dinner. By the time dinner came I had around $600.

All through dinner I was itching to get back in there. I played all night, ultimately playing $500/hand. Worked up to $15,000 then hit a bit of a cold streak and walked away with $12,100

Not bad... for starting with $100.

Was on the Allure last week - no giant wins, but lots of good ones.

Straight Flush at Ultimate Texas Hold em which paid 40x on my $10 Trips bet, plus 50x on my $15 Ante bet for a total of $1,150.

The next day at the same table I had four of a kind which paid ~$500.

Hit the two Queen of Hearts side bet at Blackjack for $750 ($6 bet, dealer didnt have blackjack or it would have been $6,000).

I dont usually play slots, but on a whim entered the last $25 slot tournament, made it to the finals and came in 2nd for $550. So close to the free 7 night cruise. I decided to throw $100 in my tournament machine after, and got almost a full screen of wilds for about $600.

On a Celebrity cruise to Alaska in 2011, I put a $20 bill in a dollar slot machine and hit for $7,200. The hit was 12X, bar-7, 12X on a three reel slot. The win paid 144 x $50. My best win yet in a cruise casino.

I had one of the craziest runs ever on an NCL ship in 2005. I was on a family cruise with 17 others. I had not planned on gambling to much, but had a comped room and wanted to give the ship some play. I started with $300 at BJ. In an hour I was up over $3000. I then jumped to craps and added another $1800 in 15 minutes. I went back to BJ and kept on winning, I then switched to Texas Hold Em to slow things down and played for an hour or so and $140. It was like a dream, I could not lose. Back to BJ and by the end of the night I was playing 2 hands at the table max($1000). The host had asked me to cash out because, get this, they needed my black chips. They had no purples on the boat he said. I cahsed out 430 blacks. I bought back in, played a little more and called it a night. I kept the winning going for the entire trip until the last day where I lost $14000. When it was all said and done I walked off the ship with $31000 more than I came with. I payed for my entire families specialty dining and wine and even gave them each $100 to put towards their on board charges. The sad part was that I had asked my father when we walked into the casino that night if he wanted to go partners with me, he said no. I paid for their next cruise as soon as we got home. The next cruise we all went on was 8 months later and I was comped any room on the ship that I wanted, we took a 2 bedroom suite. That cruise I lost $4000 the first night and ended up down over 5 for the trip. I wasn't to happy, but the room we had was over 8K.

Not the most I ever won, but I made a few $$$ on the Star Princess last month. Playing the $5 minimum at the Let it Ride/3card + bonus table, I hit two 3card three of a kind & two 5card full houses.

Paid:

2 x 3of a kind = $300

2 x full house = $55 x 6 + $75 x 2 = $480

Total $780

6th or 7th spin playing the max lines, 27 on a penny machine one cent per line day one of our last cruise she won $370 and change. She was so excited that I didn't have the heart to tell her that if she had bet the max of 10 cents per line she would have won the $37,000 progressive jackpot. To this day she doesn't know and I doubt I'll ever tell her. That first win kept her going for an entire 19 day cruise with money to spare.

Yep - at this point, I'd just keep that to myself as well (well, to yourself and all of us! :D) ! ;)

I just returned today from a 3-day cruise on the Ruby Princess, where I hit $1000 on a 3-coin progressive $.25 machine (can't remember the name, but there was a big monkey at the top). It was the top progressive jackpot on the machine; and I hit it on the 2nd day of the cruise. Not bad for playing 75 cents a pull. Right after I won, I heard them announce that someone else in the casino just won $2000 -- not sure on which machine.

This was the biggest jackpot I ever hit -- even with quite a few trips over the years to Las Vegas, Reno, Tahoe and local Indian casinos. Of course, since we were on the ship the entire three days, with no ports of call on the repositioning from Vancouver to Los Angeles, I put almost half of it back that same day. I did not play in the casino at all on the 3rd day; and I did leave with some profit. My entire cruise bill was covered, including my casino play, gratuities, future cruise credit and a small shopping purchase (I don't drink, so no liquor). And my entertainment cost was out of their pockets, not mine. Still, if you win a jackpot, cash out right away and don't go back to the casino!

Last February (2015), after playing quite awhile in Carnival Inspiration's casino, I hit about $780 on a Lobster Mania machine. This was on the last night of a 3-day President's Day weekend cruise from Los Angeles to Ensenada. After the win, a casino employee advised me to run, not walk, out of the casino. That was my 2nd biggest win ever -- and I did just what he said. :)

Gunner22a..........you have wisdom, but I doubt I could have kept my mouth shut. Told my spouse to Always, ALWAYS play MAX bet.

Whatever game you are playing....If the Max is too much for your budget?

Then play a lesser value game, or quit early, but Always Max bet!

As for me, I've been lucky on most cruises hitting a quarter royal.

Usually in the $1,000-$1,600 range.

FYI- Thats 5 quarters for Max bet.:D

I had a good run On Golden a couple of years ago.

I won an Ipad and 500$ on the key machine, 1k on the robin hood slot, and about 500$ on craps.

It was really funny after I won on the key machine. Every time I was in the casino people would point at me etc.. LOL

Just got off NCL Escape yesterday.

I played Most of the VP machines in the casino. Kept jumping around.

Mostly played Ult.X dimes. 3/5/10 play.

Seems the Only VP that was hitting the whole trip, was single line dollars.

So if you can't beat em, join em.

Friday night I switched to single line TDBP and got 4's with kicker

for 2k. That was a welcome hit after a poor casino payout trip.

Escape is a brand new ship, and the casino IS Huge.

Bigger than any other NCL ship casino I've been in.

But its too bad about the heavy smoke smell.

For a new ship, the heavy smoke smells like an Old casino. Its really too bad.

I thought that they were separating the smoking from non-smoking sections on the Escape (to have an actual section w/walls for smokers). Was there any talk or evidence of this being in the works?
