Next cruise is VIP...for my wife, not me...

To VIP experts,

Our next cruise will be DW's 10th on CCL and my 9th.

What benefits does she get, and what will we be able to share, seeing were traveling together?

I have visions of her in the VIP lounge and boarding early , while I sorrowfully wave goodbye as she dissappears thru the gate to the ship:(

Just kidding, I'll sneek in with her...but what are the other benefits?

Thanks,

Mike

Have no fear... y'all will board together. That privilege is extended to folks in the same party as a Platinum.

She can get your laundry done for you but you won't get the logo item or the black jack tournament buy in, etc...

Have a great time! Next time 'round you both get all the goodies!!

:D

Not always. They will let the same cabin board together and if there are any minor children they can board, but often they will say no if there are other cabins involved with adults who are not on the same charge card.

I know the Crazies all got to board VIP last time, but this isn't a rule, it goes port by port, and the person you pass will tell you. Maybe it changes on how busy the VIP desk is?

I did the Triumph CTN last October just so I'd be Platinum for my December Miracle cruise. It was to be DD's 9th, so she wasn't Platinum. I didn't tell her that we'd get VIP boarding, so she was rather surprised when the Carnival employee looked at my Funpass, walked us up to the scanner, held up his arms to stop the line, and waved us through. :D

Yes, her S&S card was in the VIP checkin area, in a separate box from my pretty, shiny, silver, errr, Platinum card.

She was most impressed with the lemonade and cookies, though, I think. :p

She's 23, so not a child. She is aware that she'll be Platinum next cruise. She hopes to introduce her new BF to cruising and impress him with her obvious importance!

Question, we are traveling this summer with our 2 kids. Does this cruise count as their 1st towards the platinum since they are not actually paying? If we take a trip each year (which is my plan) then my youngest will be platinum before she graduates high school. :D

Sure does! DS4 is well on his way - we leave for his 6th tomorrow! :D

Yep, there was a platinum thread and there are quite a few posting whose kids are already platinum, and well on their way to being milestones.

The person cruising gets the credit, not who paid. (or Id be milestone since Iv paid several times for my sister).

It wasn't the Crazies... it was just a bunch of us sailing together...

I've asked this several times and have been told that folks in the same party will be allowed to board together. At least that's been the case in the ports I've sailed from...

Wondering what constitutes "same party". We are cruising with DB and SIL. They are not yet platinum (number 9 for them, including the two they haven't bothered to prove from the late 1970s) but this cruise will be for us. Do you think Carnival will let them board with us, or do we get the satisfaction of looking at them and saying, "Sorry, rules is rules.";)

I just got off the Liberty this month on my first platinum cruise. I cruised with my son and of course we boarded together. One of the best perks was being escorted to the front of a very loooong tender line in Half Moon Cay. The funny thing was when we went to the Concierge line at the pursers desk. There was a women in front of us throwing a fit because Carnival would not let the other 13 people in her party(none of them were Platinum except her) go to the front of the tender line. She was yelling at the poor person behind the desk. Her husband was just hiding behind her. Finally he just said I'll go get in line and walked away. She walked off still yelling about talking to a manager. Some people..

This is just the type of scenario I will not be any part of. We are in no rush to be on the first tender at any port. And it's really no big deal if the couple we are traveling with don't get to board with us as VIPs. We've earned it, and they haven't yet. I know we'll still get whatever perks VIPs get (if they still get any). I guess we'll find out a week from the day after tomorrow!!:)

This wasn't even the first tender to the port.. it was around noon and there was still a very long line:confused:

Well, I have my May Fantasy cruise booked and did it just to return to HMC - again.

And, yes, I want to be on the first tender. I want to spend every possible moment on the island.

What I really would like, though, is to be able to take the last tender back. I've been in some really long, really slow-moving lines to return to the ship from HMC. Seems everyone wants to wait until the last minute (and I certainly don't blame them).

So, can I wait until the last minute and NOT stand in line?

If not, why not? Shouldn't Platinum have priority on tenders returning to the ship just as they do when leaving it?

Trust me, DD hasn't paid a dime for any of her 9 cruises and she will be Platinum on the next one. Carnival doesn't care who is paying.

You'll have to give your wife a hug and a kiss because you get to share the petit fours or canapes, launder your clothes for free, and get to walk past everyone in line at security to check in and be on the ship within 10 minutes of walking into the terminal building!!!!!!

I am Platinum too on my next cruise and my friend who I invited (I cruise solo, and she needs a cruise as desperately as I do) will get the perks to *BG*...I'll get the gift and Slot entry though *BG*

None.

Please excuse if I am wrong. But I have heard that if you cruise Princess Lines (which are owned by Carnival, or something like that) the cruise will go toward a Platinum status.

Help!!:D

Have a great weekend, I'm sure we all need it......

Carnival brands do not interchange reward programs. If you are Platinum on Carnival you are not the same on Princess, Costa, Holland America etc. Youu have to earn the credits on each line.

Somebody gave you wrong information.

Some of Carnival's sister lines will give you Past Guest Rates, but none of them interchange loyalty status.
