Otis Hertz Alott Posted April 18, 2010 #1 Share Posted April 18, 2010 (i just posted this in another forum and just realized this might be right forum to post.) Hi all. These forums have been very informative, but a ton of info! This is our first cruise (Carnival Glory - May 16) going to Cozumel, Belize, Roatan, and Cayman Islands. I am not sure if I'm posting this in the right forum, but for those who have gone to these ports before, what excursions did you book/go on and what was your experiences with them, cost, etc? It's dizzying trying to figure out what to do. We have a fairly large group (13 people), and we probably all won't be doing the same excursions. But just wanting to get a sense of what people have done and enjoyed in these ports. From what I heard, since the cruise is only 4 weeks away, we should be finalizing our excursions fairly soon. Thanks to anyone in advance for your help!
Rare LHT28 Posted April 18, 2010 #2 Share Posted April 18, 2010 You should post in the Ports O f Call forum http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=5 If you read through the specific ports you will find the answers ;)
woodcycl Posted May 3, 2010 #3 Share Posted May 3, 2010 Captain Marvin's for anything water related in Grand Cayman ... they are great! We've used them twice and both times were very impressed and satisfied. I found out about them from CC.com also. http://www.captainmarvins.com/ Saves a few $$ compared to the ships excursion prices also. And, the wait isn't as long. Boats aren't as packed. Have fun! cb at sea Posted May 3, 2010 #4 Share Posted May 3, 2010 In some of these places, you won't need an "excursion" at all, depending on what interests you! Get a guidebook on your ports and read up on what is each countries "specialty". You can find out about beaches, shopping, watersports, snorkling locations, restaurants, bars, transportation... So many things are cheap and easy to do without booking an excursion and having to meet a timetable! But you have to have some information!!! Get a guidebook, find out what interests you, then read about how to do it! If it's easy, forgo paying someone to escort you and have a wonderful day!
