UK Airports re-open

Confirmed by the Telegraph, the BBC and the Heathrow Airport website, the airport will re-open tonight at 10:00 pm after a day of negotiations between BA and the Civil Aviation Authority. BA had maintained all along that the closure was unecessary and premature. They were flying a dozen or so planes back to the UK from areas in the Far East today and intended to land them at Heathrow whether permitted or not. Seems like they convinced the authorities... In a few weeks, we will all look at this as another "swine flu" crisis.

IF the airports can remain open, and IF the volcano does not erupt again resulting in additional closures, news sources in Europe are reporting that it will take two or three weeks to deal with the back-log of passengers stranded by this unfortunate natural disaster.

We are truly wishing all the best for all those affected by the volcanic eruption. :)
