Lanie - Lovin' your review! In a previous posting you said something about taking ginger pills, I have them, but was wondering how many and how often do you take them? Is it something you want to take prior to leaving for the cruise? Just wasn't sure, but wanted to make sure that I take them the right way for them to work.

Thanks!

Sue

Thanks! I have the motion ease also - just like to be REALLY prepared! Yes, you can get it at Walmart, apprx. $5, it is a VERY little bottle, of course it doesn't take much at a time to use either. It does have a rather "odd" smell, but that doesn't last long.

Day 3 - Key West

What a beautiful day!! We docked at Mallory Square at 10:00 a.m.

We signed up for the “Hemmingway House & History Tour”. It was listed as a 2.5 hour walking tour. We we gone at least 3 hours…..but we had a wonderful guide named Robert and he told us stories all along the way.

We saw the Truman White House; the Lighthouse; and had a tour inside the Hemmingway House. There are currently 47 cats in residence.

Our tour ended at Capt. Tony’s Bar. We searched for the red bra left by Stitch on the last Crazies cruise, but didn’t find it…….where did you leave that Stitch?

We came back to the ship and ordered room service sandwiches around 3:00 p.m. If you decide to do this walking tour….pack your tennis shoes and socks. I was very glad that I did.

Sail away was at 6:00 p.m. and they were still calling for one couple right up until the time we left. Don’t know if they made it or not.

Dinner tonight….Bill and I both had the French Onion Soup and a Shrimp Cocktail. Yum! Bill had the Mahi Mahi and I had the Jerk Pork. Both were very good. Tonight the waiters danced to “Low, Low, Low”……and of course I had to get up and dance with them.

We’ve talked with many people who said they spent most of yesterday in their cabins because they weren’t feeling well. A lot of folks said they had never seen it that rough before. Tonight we talked with a couple who said that several people got off today in Key West and were renting cars to drive home because of how rough it was yesterday.

Tomorrow we dock in Freeport, Grand Bahama at 8:00 a.m.

Glad you had a great time... I love Key West!!!

The next time we're there together I'll be glad to show you where the famous red bra resides...

Thanks for the live reports and so sorry that you lost a day of your voyage to tummy problems...

:)

you can also get the seaband at walmart - not meds, no drowsiness.

my daughter wears for car sick and works everytime. You wear on wrist on pressure points.

I use SeaBands as a security blanket... I just feel comfortable when I have them on!!! I panicked one cruise... I left them at home... stopped at Wlagreens and they had them on sale... I bought two pairs -- now I just keep them in my toiletries bag!!

Lambknuckles - thanks for the advice! Just curious, what are the sea bands made out of? I gather since they work with the "pressure points" I assume they adjust to fit your wrist properly or do they come in different sizes? I was wondering this because I have small wrists so didn't know if it would work properly. Since they come in pairs, I guess it is necessary to wear one on each wrist? What is the average cost of these? Sorry to "bombard" you with so many questions, but I appreciated your help!

SeaBands are made of cloth, elastic, stretchy cloth... They are folded down in half to about 1.5 inches lengthwise -- so about 3 - 3.5 inches, unstretched... and a hard plastic "button" is inside that is placed a couple finger widths up from the wrinkles on the bendy part of the wrist... (Wow... that sounds funny... I can't think of all the proper terms...)

I have seen folks wear just one, but yes, it says to wear two. Mine are in a dull grey and blend with most things and black, which are the "formal" night ones... On sale about $4, if full price, about $6.

The first time I put them on... I feel them -- but after a few minutes, I forget they're there... But when I shower and take them off... I find the imprint on the inside of my wrist....

They are usually in the motion sickness area. Stop in and see them and they come in a box... so you shouldbe able to try one, before you buy one...

Day 4 - Freeport

We did not plan an excursion for Freeport. Just walked to the shops at the end of the pier and did some shopping at the Straw Market. We came back to the ship and laid out in the afternoon.

Our dinner choices tonight were Beef Stroganoff and I had the Seafood Newberg. Both were very good. Dessert tonight was Bitter and Blanc!

Forgot to mention before that when the waiters dance in the dining room after dinner……..unlike Conquest and Ecstasy……no one gets up to dance. It hasn’t stopped me however! LOL

Day 5 - Nassau

Another beautiful day in the Bahamas! We booked the “Discover Atlantis” excursion which allowed us to do the aquarium, the Dig, and we could also go in the Casino.

Our excursion didn’t start until 11:30 a.m. right at the pier. Then it was a fairly long, hot walk from the pier to the area where we got on the tour buses. From there it was a 15-20 minute ride to Atlantis.

The hotel and grounds are beautiful. However, the tour guide that we had, walked and talked very fast. I think she lost half of the group half way through the tour. I talked with our table mates who were in another group and they said their guide stopped and waited for people to catch up and she would wait to start talking until everyone had caught up and could hear her.

Our guide did not do this. The tour last about an hour. We then had free time to wander the grounds on our own……the shuttle buses left every 30 minutes to return to the ship.

The following ships were in port with us today: RCI Monarch of the Seas; RCI Majesty of the Seas; NCL Sky; NCL Jewel; and Regent Seven Seas Navigator.

We left Nassau at 5:00 p.m. headed for home. We have two sea days and hope that they are better than our first sea day was.

Forgot to mention...I talked with some folks who had their power strip taken away from them on boarding. it was in their luggage and they were also smuggling so that's how it was spotted.

I carried mine in my carry on (thanks Mach), and no one said a word.

On the ones I have seen it is just the old 6Es that were converted to balconies, that now have the sliding doors. Yes, just on the spa deck. Im no expect for sure, just have seen them no the cabin crawls we did on roll calls. They are indeed nice.

Sounds good firefly thats where we will be on our May 8th cruise on the Triumph with you. We did get the upgrade call for a cat 11 but we decided to stay on top of every thing on the spa deck

Great review so far!!! I am going on the Triumph in Oct. and can't wait. I can't believe no one gets up to dance. I don't really dance, but I do in the MDR!!! LOL It is just too much fun, but then I have only ever sailed on the Conquest or Ecstasy. Hope the rest of your cruise is great!!!

You will LOVE the Spa Deck....it is soooo quiet. Jaya is our cabin steward and he is wonderful. I think there are only 14 cabins on this deck.

Hey Texascruzrs...if you can check on 1 thing for me that would be great. I will be getting on Triumph as you are getting off. Can you please find out or if you know even better, how many laps around the track = 1 mile. My daughter really wants to know. Thanks so much! It sounds like you are having a wonderful trip!

TexasCruzrs,You talked about Olga from Russia, We had someone on our cruise on The Fantasy. Her name was Olga. She was the Casino Host, and she was from Russia. She moved after that to Princess, I believe to be a dealer in the Casino. She was wonderful to us. And she was just so sweet and a very beautiful young lady. She was short, had curly hair and sometimes wore glasses. Do you possibly have a picture of her and have any more info about her? Would love to hear from her again. She was engaged to someone that worked on the Fantasy with her, I believe his name was Joey. They broke up and that is when she went home to Russia. Then came back to the Princess.

Thanks

It's so great to know that you're home safe and sound!!!

Are you still feeling the motion?? I love that feeling!!! Kind of keeps the cruise alive for a few more days or weeks!!!

SO... I'm curious:

You cruise frequently...

... are the evening shows still the same or have they made some changes?

... you raved about your balcony.

Did you sleep with the door open or closed?

Is the humidity too much of a problem with it open?

Do you think Mom will be able to get her wheelchair out there, will she need to sit in one of their chairs??

... tell us more about the food and drinks... anything new or new to you???

... Did Bill find the Basketball games in the sports bar or on TV??

OH... I guess I just want you to ramble and we'll read and learn...

Our Olga had curly blond hair and always had it in a pony tail. I know she has two daughters and she will be going home in a month for her vacation time. I do have a picture and will post it as soon as I find my camera......it's somewhere in the suitcase. LOL

Lambie:

The shows are all the same from ship to ship....

We slept with the door closed although we talked about leaving it open the last night. I slept on the side of the bed right next to the window and I kept the drapes open at night so I could look out at the water whenever I turned over.

Mom won't be able to get her wheelchair out there. You have to step over the "threshhold" and there is not any extra room out there.

There are two chairs and a table....one of the chairs reclines.

Most of the menu was the same, however, the ribs were on the menu several times. I had them the last night and they were really good.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm... RIBS!!!! They are good... and I finally got over the pride of not wanting to eat them in a "Dining Room" with cloth napkins... I just get too much into my ribs and love them all over my face and fingers!!!!

I was hoping that they had produced a new show since February and last September... I know the singers and dancers changed with new contracts... but I've seen them all and would like new material more frequently!!!

Sounds like I'll help Mom "walk" to the chair and put her feet up and be sure she has a book and a drink... and she'll be in hog heaven!!!

Now I understand why we don't have photos yet!!! You camera is MIA!!!!
