raz5 Posted May 2, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 2, 2010 We sailed on a repo out of San Juan with ports in St. Thomas, St. Martin, Tortola and Bermuda. Stayed at the Intercontinental for $90.00, thanks to Cruise Critic and Priceline. Took a cab to pier and dropped off our luggage in the a.m. then a took a cab back to tour Old San Juan. We had a suite, 6122, after many price drops, I just kept upgrading. LOVED the suite, so much room and storage. I also enjoyed the bathtub because I didn't have to be like Gumby when I had to shave my legs. Our Butler, Armando was excellent, and Marta our steward was equally wonderful. I will be forever spoiled. The ship was wonderful despite other posts. The service was great with the exception of the main dinning room. We had to flag someone down to get a drink order, entrees were incorrect, I have had better service. We decided to eat there only 2 nights. We had a free dinner in the Normandie because we had booked a suite. I also booked a dinner there before we sailed. I must say that it was awesome and the service exceptional. We had dinner in our room and on the balcony which was nice. Embarkation was a breeze, the muster drill went quickly and because we had an orange debarkation tag, when we exited in Bayonne, we breezed right through customs. (we had our luggage with us because we had a waiting car) Also, all of us on the Roll Call met the first night in the aft bar, wearing Mardi Gras Beads so we would recognize each other, there were also name tags...it was a blast. Don't miss "Dr. Feel Good" the bartender at the pool bar. He is a riot.

Precisly how long did it take you ( at what time) to disembark at Bayonne and go through customs? I want to know as I have a 10:30am flight out of Newark. I want to know as I have a 10:30am flight out of Newark. I would say we were in the car by 9:00am, but probably could have been off by 8:00-8:30, if we hustled. Rare Lois R Posted May 2, 2010 #5 Share Posted May 2, 2010 For a 10:30am flight wouldn't you need to be at the airport by 8:30? or earlier since you are flying to Canada?

raz5 Posted May 3, 2010 Author #10 Share Posted May 3, 2010 Appreciate your review. Hope to see more photos. Did you eat in the casual dinner location or just Normandie and MDR?How was the entertainment? We ate at the buffet on some nights. They had many choices. The food was very good. There is also a grill located by the pool with burgers and dogs, make your own tacos and nachos. They also had a fabulous brunch on one of the sea days, in the main dining room. I caught a bit of the entertainment which was quite good. There was a Broadway Review and a staff talent show. I mostly enjoyed the casino, although I made a nice deposit. chickaroonie Posted May 4, 2010 #13 Share Posted May 4, 2010 We ate at the casual dining venue for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed skipping the second formal night. I had a chilled soup mango & coconut with baby shrimp that was excellent. It was not crowded at all but they are firm about reservations and not arriving earlier than your reservation time. We saw 2 parties sent away until proper time and walk ups not permitted. So service there is also quite good. It was an experience I would certainly recommend.
