Newbie...Stateroom question.....Glory Carnival

We're going on the Glory Carnival end of January. Which Deck is the best, Riveria or Upper? We're thinking of booking a interior and a balcony. We're getting the balcony for 2 adults and a toddler and my parents are coming with us and getting a interior with 2 adults and 2 kids cus it's cheaper. For the Upper Deck it's $40 extra for balcony and $100 extra for interior. So is it worth getting the Upper Deck? My parents want to be near us so they would pay the extra money.

You might want to look at the deck plan for the Promenade deck below the Upper. Forward=Show Room----Midship=Casino----aft=Disco & other Lounges. Above the Upper the Empress 8b&8c balconies 4d&4e insides. Then you have cabins above and below you. All a matter of choice, whatever you choose HAVE A GREAT CRUISE!!

My TA says that Upper, Empress and Verandah is pretty much the same just one higher then the other. But idk if I should spend the extra money. Im also wondering if this is a good deck to be on. We would be in midship or close by it because this is our first crusie and just in case anyone of us will get motion sickness. I know I wont but I wont know bout anyone else.
