Not certain about the price of the beverages. Pop(Soda) has to be purchased. It is not free in the Horizon court (juices at breakfast, coffee, tea, and iced tea throughout the day). If you plan on drinking a lot of soda, then a soda card is available for purchase (again not certain of the price)

Children are not allowed in the (aft) Terrace pool or the Lap pool (near the spa). They are allowed at both of the pools midship. They are allowed in the bar with you.

I'm sure you will have a great time!

Soda is not free.

Beer runs $4-$7.

And if the Grand is running the happy hours promotion, well drinks and certain beers (Dos Equis, MGD, Miller light, and another brand) are $2.99! Great prices if you like the brands.

well my ta got that wrong they said free soda oh well it will still be a good time :)

They may have been getting confused with the lemonade as in the UK it can be fizzy (pop/soda) or still.

On board it is the latter, and in my experience was widely available for free in pitchers throughout the Lido area and buffet in the afternoons and I just helped myself to it whenever I wanted some, though others have reported that on their cruises, it was not so widely available. ;)

If you are going on the Grand and you are from Sunderland, can I assume that you are going from Southampton? If so, you could always take some of your drinks on board with you - particularly cans or bottles of pop. Also think about buying soft drinks in ports that you stop at to replenish the stock - may be cheaper than buying on board.

You should also be able to take a limited amount of the more adult drinks with you too! Princess allow passengers to take wine on board, and some friends have also carried on a bottle of spirits (one bottle!) without a problem. You can probably also get away with some cans of beer - as long as you're not "stocked to the gills" in your carry on luggage!

Hope you have a wonderful cruise.

I'm guessing from the 2-1/2 weeks, that you're leaving around June 6th or so. From about mid-May until middle-June, each week more and more kids will be out of school (my daughter's last day of school will be June 18th...was supposed to be the week after, but the budget crisis has cut the school year by a few days). Please don't assume though that a large number of kids will necessarily impact your cruise. As long as the kids are kept busy (which does mean letting them in the pool and other places on the ship), they will be happy and enjoying their vacation. And not bored, which is usually when kids are causing problems.

You will not get an English PINT onboard. Most of the beer in cans or draft is 12 ounces whereas an English PINT is 20 or 22 ounces.

wow so its about £5 to $7 dollers for a half a pint oh well its been four years since i last had a break i will still enjoy :)
