locafordan Posted May 26, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 26, 2010 Due to some unexpected change of plans, we might have to cancel our booking with Royal Caribbean which sails out 12/12/10. We have already cruised with Royal before, but this will be our first time cancelling our cruise with them; which was booked directly on their website. Since I already know I will not incurr any penalties since we booked early. My questions are: 1.Is it true you have to submit in writing your request to cancel your booking with Royal? 2:Can you just cancel by phone or online? 3: By which method have you usually cancelled your booking with Royal with no problems? 4: How long it takes to receive your full refund? I greatly appreciate in advance your help in this matter. Have a great day! :D
nyer Posted May 26, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 26, 2010 I had to cancel a cruise after having made the deposit only. I had booked via telephone with RCI. All I did was call RCI and told them I needed to cancel. My credit showed up on my cc bill in about 48 hours (American Express). I did not submit anything in writing. Arizona Cruz Chic Posted May 26, 2010 #4 Share Posted May 26, 2010 We also canceled a cruise that was booked on line and only had a deposit being paid. I called to cancel....I wasn't even asked why we wanted to cancel. It took less than 2 minutes! We had our refund with in days.....it was in 2 credits of uneven amounts to equal the amount of our deposit. ***
Jimbo Posted May 26, 2010 #5 Share Posted May 26, 2010 On, the My Cruises section of Royal Caribbean site you can cancel, once you sign it you can actually cancel it right online without talking or calling anyone. It's easy, you will get your credit card credited in about 3 or 4 business days. Jimbo:)
Ocean Boy Posted May 26, 2010 #6 Share Posted May 26, 2010 If you booked on-line you can go into your reservation on-line and you will see an option, and a button to click on, to cancel the reservation. You don't have to talk to anyone.
DonnaK Posted May 26, 2010 #7 Share Posted May 26, 2010 It's way before final payment day? Just call and cancel, and the deposit refund will be promptly posted back to your credit card.
