I'm always fascinated by the wide variety of passengers aboard a ship and how they choose to spend their time and their money.

So that gave me an idea for another poll: If you were given a surprise $100 OBC, how would you spend it?

While we're at it ... have you ever received a surprise OBC?? Feel free to share your story!

I'd give it as a tip for excellent service!! Just kidding!!!

I would put it towards spa service. I've found another thing to love about a cruise, the hot stone massage......yum. I'd use it to pay for half of one of those!!!

Cheers, Carole

OBC is nice. It doesn't really change how much we tip or spend, just lessens/eliminates the bill at the end, which is nice.

I agree! I figure I owe that much less for stuff at the end! :D

Here's my story. Several months ago, some really nice people - thanks, Scott and Marion - said they had a gift certificate that someone could have if they were going to use it. Well...since my DD was getting married on the Dream in April, I said I could definitely use it. To make a long story short, they said they would have it put on our account...and they did! Considering our bill for the wedding, that $100 helped, and I really appreciated it. My DH was skeptical, but he was pleasantly surprised when we saw it on our Sail & Sign. Just further proof that there are some really nice people on these boards!

We have some really good friends that we dog sit for.

I never take money, but last year on our RC Mexican Riv cruise, we got to our cabin, and had a certificate for $100 obc for my husband and I.

It was a really nice surprise, and we just applied it as obc, and toasted a few drinks to our good friends and their doggies.

On our first cruise we knew nothing, we were virgins, sailing with virgins for their wedding, for some reason because there were so many people booked with this wedding party, we kept getting on board credits, the bride had taken care of everything for us regarding getting OBC, but we didn't know what it meant, so basically it was never applied to any thing other than our card. Dumb us.

If I had a 100$ OBC now, I would apply it to shore excursions. Bahamas, want to go to Blue Lagoon.:)
