yorkiemomjn Posted July 5, 2010 #27 Share Posted July 5, 2010 The cabin fridges are not stocked. Those "free" softdrinks may be obtained in the lounges. I'm also under the impression that Oceania does not carry Pepsi products at present. On our cruise in April on the Regatta, I asked our room steward if it was possible to have diet Pepsi and later that day there was a case in our room!!! :D
JBVols Posted July 5, 2010 #28 Share Posted July 5, 2010 We just returned from the Black Sea cruise on the Nautica and our refrigerator Was stocked when we boarded. It contained Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Club Soda, Tonic Water and Ginger Ale. They would replentish upon request.
Rare LHT28 Posted July 5, 2010 #29 Share Posted July 5, 2010 .The fridges are amply filled with water, soda, beer, booze and are replenished when used. BEER & BOOZE ????? The fridges are "stocked" with free soft drinks - the beer and booze cost money -- but not the water, tonic and cokes (diet and regular). They are also obtained anywhere on the ship - lounge, dining room, etc. Just experienced it!!! Arlene

Rare LHT28 Posted July 5, 2010 #32 Share Posted July 5, 2010 Was there any problems with the Chamomile-infused mattress? Could you notice the smell? Lyn

It would be nice in future when all the ships have fridges installed that they give the option to choose the type of sodas for the fridge like some other lines Lyn

caribbeansun Posted July 6, 2010 #38 Share Posted July 6, 2010 Likely a logistical nightmare in attempting to custom fill every room's content not to mention a huge labour investment. caribbeansun Posted July 6, 2010 #42 Share Posted July 6, 2010 But in those cases aren't they paying for what's in the minibar, thereby allowing the cruise line to recover the direct cost of stocking and replenishing? There would also seem to be a motivation to providing a purchasing customer brands of preference in an effort to increase utilization and hence sales/profits. It really doesn't matter as you say, I just find the economics around the pricing of different offerings interesting - points of differentiation and how different companies get compensated for providing different services. Does anyone know if the charge for say a beer is the same out of the in room fridge as it is at one of the restaurants? Could be... but other cruise lines manage & they have more passengers ;)It was just on my wishlist
