smoking on Oasis

Recommended Posts

This year you are allowed to smoke on your outside balcony (not in your cabin, though) if you face the ocean (not the "inside" balconies on Central Park or Boardwalk), one side of the casino, one side of the ship on the outside decks (you'll see the ashtrays and signs) and in Bolero's lounge on the Royal Promenade, and the Cigar lounge. Check your Cruise Compass newsletter for the details.

People may chime in with others but that's all I can remember.

Have no been on RCI but plan to next year. Where can you smoke on Oasis/Allure?

If you have an oceanview balcony and plan to smoke, ask your cabin steward for an ashtray. They are large and heavy, so they don't blow away.

"What is the Smoking Policy onboard?s.gifA: For the comfort and enjoyment of our guests, our ships are designated as non-smoking; however, we recognize that some of our guests smoke. Therefore, to provide an onboard environment that also satisfies smokers, we have designated certain public and private areas of the ship as "smoking areas."

Smoking in public areas is only permitted in designated smoking sections which vary by ship. Generally, smoking is permitted outdoors on only one side of the ship; and smoking is permitted on all private ocean front balconies, including Loft Suite balconies on Oasis Class. To assist in locating areas where smoking is permitted, you will find visible signage posted within all smoking areas and ashtrays that are provided for your use. The location of all smoking venues can also be found in the daily Cruise Compass; or you may contact Guest Services once onboard.

For your safety, smoking is not permitted inside any stateroom or on interior private balconies on Oasis Class that overlook The Boardwalk or Central Park. Smoking is not permitted in any dining venue, food outlet, theater, hallway or corridor; nor in Central Park, The Boardwalk or The Jogging Track on Oasis Class ships; nor in the H2O Zone on Oasis and Freedom Class ships. A $250 cleaning fee will be applied to the SeaPass account if smoking has occurred inside staterooms or on private interior balconies overlooking The Boardwalk or Central Park onboard Oasis Class ships. Royal Caribbean International kindly asks all guests to please observe the non-smoking areas and to refrain from smoking pipes or cigars in any of the public areas. These requests are made to provide a comfortable shipboard environment for everyone. Guests who violate this smoking policy may be subject to further action pursuant to the "Consequences Section" of this Guest Conduct Policy.

Pipe and cigar smoking is only permitted within the Cigar lounge. (If no Cigar lounge exists on a particular ship, there will be a designated area for pipe and cigar smoking).

A guest must be at least 18 years of age to purchase, possess or use tobacco products onboard. Cigarettes, cigars and pipe tobacco must always be properly disposed of and never thrown overboard."

I just found this on RCCL website!

From the Compass:

"Cigars Under the Stars for Aficionados

Portside above the Solarium Deck 17

7:00 pm - 1:00 am"

Thank you for the info. I don't consider an outside venue as a cgar bar. I do appreciate your response though. The Connisieur (sp) Club is such a nice place to sit, sip and smoke I thought they might carry it over from Freedom and Voyager class to Oasis. Looks like it went the way of the computer lounge, overboard.

Yes, the computer lounge is the Card Room. Although we found the separate computer lounge the first day, but could never find it again!

I wonder if they have a dedicated venue for cigars for bad weather? We had rain for 2 days on our Oasis cruise and I can't imagine you'd enjoy cigar smoking in that weather.

  • 2 months later...

There is not a cigar bar on the Oasis, nice to hear they are using one of the outside lounge for cigar smokers. Hopefully they did come up with a area for cigar and pipe smokers on the Allure. I agree with one of the posters saying an outside bar is not a cigar bar for the simple fact of wind. Not conducive with cigar smoking, not to mention the waves and frowns of people that smell the cigar. When we were on the Oasis there was never anyone in the Globe and Atlas, which is suppose to be like a London Pub. They should transform that into the Cigar bar, it would be perfect. I'm sure they could sell higher end cigar's and Cognacs and make good profit. I would almost guarantee that it would be packed most of the time!!

Thanks for the chuckle when you start off with "This year". How very true as we have found out, just because you could smoke one place one time does not necessarily mean when you cruise again on that ship 6 months or a year later it will be the same;) PS In May you could smoke in the Schooner Bar but I think I read somewhere that is no longer true?? In May you could alsom smoke in the pub on the promenade, can't remember the name.
