Afever Posted June 16, 2010 #1 Share Posted June 16, 2010 We will be in Bar Harbor early July and wondering what to pack. What's the average temperature in July, esp. in Acadia National Park. Will we need a jacket?
SailBadtheSinner Posted June 16, 2010 #2 Share Posted June 16, 2010 There is an average temperature table here: http://www.acadia.national-park.com/weather.htm When I visit in late June, I'm wearing a shirt & shorts. I have handy a windbreaker or a sweatshirt but I only wear them at the top of Cadillac Mountain on a damp foggy morning or waiting for the thunder at Thunder Hole on a damp foggy windy morning. Jan_In_Maine Posted June 17, 2010 #3 Share Posted June 17, 2010 July is usually a lovely month, not as muggy as August. I think Sailbad has given a good answer. I would take a sweatshirt "just in case" .... or better yet stop in one of the stores in Bar Harbor and pick up a lovely souvenier to wear. http://www.coolasamoose.com/ John - Not to hijack this thread - but when you go to MDI in June do you go to HR in SW? SBtS Thanks for the link. Guess a light jacket is needed at Acadia. Just don't want to carry it around when touring the city.

John Ha - Ok - I usually don't do this - check out their website and go down the listing on the left - seventh item after home and click on it. SailBadtheSinner Posted June 18, 2010 #7 Share Posted June 18, 2010 Jan - So you are on the bod, you're doing a good job; keep the mf as low as you can. Really enjoy being there, great location. John
Jan_In_Maine Posted June 18, 2010 #8 Share Posted June 18, 2010 Thanks John. Today in Maine it is 87 with big puffy white clouds high in the sky ... a lovely breeze too - Perfect day. I truly think that this summer will end up being warmer than usual. Jan
138east Posted June 18, 2010 #9 Share Posted June 18, 2010 This summer is already better than last summer. Last year it rained a lot through both June and July in Mass. It was a non-summer.
