what are the hidden costs

Recommended Posts

Sure some of the speciality dining options are extra, but nothing is hidden as all the cost info is on the RC website.

No charges are made for Zipline, Flowrider of Mini Golf, you will love the Big O it is a fab ship:D

We are thinking of Oasis for our 10 next year but want to know all the hidden costs. Do any of the rock wall, zip line, flowrider, mini golf cost? How about places to eat?

There really are no hidden costs. After your cruise fare is paid the only other thing you are responsible for is staff tips, if you don't pre-pay them in advance. You'll also be responsible for island transportation and or excursion costs, but that has nothing to do with the cruise line, those are "on your own" expenses. You don't have to incur them. As for activities onboard, the only thing that actually costs you money to play would be bingo and use of the casino. All other activities are included in your cruise fare. There are extra charge restaurants onboard, but also plenty of free places to eat too. Alot of folks go on cruises and don't spend a dime onboard. Enjoy!

Also remember that the staff is paid by your "tips". That comes to $10 PER PERSON! The staff gets very little salary - less than $100 per MONTH. The "tips" are shared by people who you never see. They work in the back.

That would be $10 per person, PER DAY of course. and they deserve every cent of it for all the hard work and smiles they deliver.:D

Hmm - not hidden but extra costs include but not limited to is the Cupcake place (and the class), the candy store. I've heard if you take the Scrapbook class, there's a cost for the materials (I remember when there wasn't.) Wine tasting. The daily Compass will tell you if there is a cost for a specific event.

However, there are many, many included items/venues.

As people have stated, there are no "hidden" costs. Anything that requires payment above and beyond what you've already paid for the cruise, will be charged to your SeaPass account. You have to give them your card in order to be charged, so that will be your clue right there.

Also, your daily Cruise Compass will give you the list of restaurants/venues that charge and do not charge extra. If there is a charge, a little dollar sign ($) will be posted next to the name. Don't worry about printing out lists or trying to memorize the eateries. You'll come to know them all soon enough.

Have fun. :)
