mikiecc Posted June 19, 2010 #1 Share Posted June 19, 2010 Just booked the 28 day round trip from LAX - Hawaii - Tahiti. Out of the 28 days, 18 are sea days and the last leg of the trip is 8 days back from Tahiti. Does anyone know what the seas are like in the Pacific in early November? Also, since this is our 5th curise and 42 days this will move us to the Platinum level. Do we get any perks on this trip or must complete it first? This is the longest we both have been on a ship and a lot of sea days, I hope the weather is good. Thanks for your comments.
Druke I Posted June 19, 2010 #2 Share Posted June 19, 2010 No guarantees re weather and sea state. Often bumpy out of Los Angeles for a day or two (crossing CA current which flowsw South along the Left Coast). We were on Pacific Princess, Nov 03, Papeete to Sydney, and waters were calm. You will likely receive your Platinum membership cards the last evening of the cruise. (Or you could take a 5th trip between now and this one and then be Platinum for the 18 day trip.) Katie333 Posted June 19, 2010 #4 Share Posted June 19, 2010 We have friends joining us for an Asia cruise in 2012, which would have been their platinum cruise. We all decided that for their sake, we just had to slip in an extra quickie cruise beforehand, so we jumped on the new Southern (Aruba, Curacao) itinerary in Nov 2011. You've got a year before your big trip, so maybe you could do the same thing? Platinum doesn't give you too much beyond the Internet minutes, but on a long trip those are nice to have for keeping in touch etc.
DrivesLikeMario Posted June 19, 2010 #5 Share Posted June 19, 2010 I would really recommend taking another cruise before this wonderful big one you've got planned. Even if it's just a one-nighter from YVR to SEA, it would put you in the Platinum level and get you the internet perks, besides all the other ones too. Congrats on the cruise! How awesome to book such a long one! :)
Rare Woobstr112G Posted June 19, 2010 #6 Share Posted June 19, 2010 That is a great itinerary. I sure wish I could sail with you. DW however would never consent to kenneling our golden for that long..... Bob
janina Posted June 20, 2010 #7 Share Posted June 20, 2010 I've been around Tahiti at that time of year and the waters were calm. You may hit rougher waters between Hawaii and La. What a great cruise. You won't get your Platinum till after the cruise, but you have plenty of time to get it before hand, and reap the perks on the long one.:)
