HopingForFun333 Posted July 16, 2014 #452 Share Posted July 16, 2014 Ship... Brilliance Of The Seas Deck... 3 Stateroom number... 3500 Stateroom category... Large OceanView Starboard or Port?... Port Quiet stateroom?... Very noisy when docking. Noise of the bow thrusters and the vibration was impossible to ignore, a real problem if docking early. This cabin is near/under the theatre so at show times the music etc was very loud. This didn't bother us as we are always late to bed but if you have children or like earlier nights it could be a real problem. If checking the deck plan it will be easy to see why this cabin and those nearby are affected. At other times the cabin was very quiet and despite the fact that there is a door to the crew area just nearby we never heard any noise from the door/crew. Was the stateroom a connecting stateroom?... No we could hear the next door cabin but it wasn't a problem for us. I suppose this might depend on who occupied it though. Balcony view and size.. N/A Was wind a problem?..N/A Any specific problems with this cabin?... The only real problem was the noise as mentioned above, but a cabin maybe under a restaurant or nightclub etc might well be noisier. Yes it is a long way to get..well anywhere... on the ship, but the layout is good and let's face it it keeps the weight off too..;) Any other comments? ... The cabin itself was fine, a good size and kept very clean by KIZZY our super cabin attendant. We had the beds separate under the window so we could easily see out without climbing on the bed and felt that made the room bigger somehow. The bathroom was reasonable size, the shower had a curtain, not a door but was fine. Loads of storage ( as we had been told suitcases went under the beds easily ). Flat screen TV was fine. We got this cabin as a ' guaranteed cabin ' we knew the chances and as such we were happy. We decided before we boarded that we would just enjoy it all and we did, but that said I would not choose this cabin or any near it due to the engine/thruster problem, some docking is very early and we like to sleep late of we can. :)

(With comments on problems) – Very quiet aft cabin located 9 cabins from the end of the ship. The only noise that we experienced was our cabin attendant’s enthusiastic greeting of every occupant of every cabin in the passageway. This was because his trolley was always located outside our cabin door. Luckily this only happened twice every day! He gave us an excellent service though. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Wonderful balcony. We chose it because of a recommendation on Cruise Critic and everything that they said was correct. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Oversized for class. The last 10 cabins on the 7th deck had double depth balconies that extended beyond the balcony line of the rest of the ship. Good for sunbathing. Was wind a problem? - No If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - No Any specific problems with this cabin? - The sofa had seen better days and was a bit uncomfortable and the curtains smelled of smoke but it was not a major problem. Any other comments? – We spent a lot of time in the cabin and on the balcony and thought that this enhanced our trip tremendously Edited July 23, 2014 by Lanzalady Add more photos

(With comments on problems) – Room is near the centrum, but with the hallway doors closed during performances, we didn't hear anything. Nice location near the elevators. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? -No Balcony View -Balcony has the large overhang, so there is little to no sun. It is also right up to the floor-length windows of the family suite (previously the Concierge Lounge) next door. So there really isn't much privacy, if that's what you are looking for. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? -Normal Was wind a problem? -No If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? -N/A Any specific problems with this cabin? - Cabin was very nice, large bathroom with double granite sinks. Lots of storage. Typical Grand Suite layout. Any other comments? - The only issue I really had is the fact that there was early morning deck cleaning (4 AM) which was quite loud with the sound of the hoses being lifted and dropped on the deck above. Also the sound of the water nozzles being turned off and on, making loud, intermittant, "thunking" sounds. There was a little noise from the foot traffic during the day, but not enough to really be bothersome.

Rare dna1990 Posted August 10, 2014 #463 Share Posted August 10, 2014 Just like the fine folks here at CC made the Roll Call Search screen. It sure would make a nice page to be able to search any ship any cabin. And have dated entries showing user's observations. These are good attributes to track, just need a more organized collection and search ability. Keep it up and CC we are behind ya on such an effort. Theredofshaw Posted August 11, 2014 #464 Share Posted August 11, 2014 Where can I find the most recent PDF of this information? I am scrolling page after page looking for one..... At the top of the page underneath the page numbers for this thread, click "Search this thread". Here you can search by your room number (may bring up you ship this way). If this doesn't bring up your room, it may not be on here, try searching your ship and you may be able to find a room that is close by or at least in the same category. (With comments on problems) –very quiet. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom-yes and used as connecting staterooms. only problem was doors where very noisy to open and close, plus they wouldn't open fully because beds where in the way of them opening fully so you couldn't get on to balcony without opening and closing them. Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. –perfect balcony, great view. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - normal. Was wind a problem? -no If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? -n/a Any specific problems with this cabin? -twice the toilet system stopped flushing. once overnight! Any other comments? -I would advise getting a superior connecting balcony so you wouldn't have connecting door problem. Maybe perhaps the room steward could do with a bit of a personality boost, her cleaning could be given a boost also.
