Pack My Bags Posted June 24, 2010 #1 Share Posted June 24, 2010 So excited about our 16 nighter repositioning from LA to Chile! Booked balcony 8618 right inthe middle of the hump. 2nd time on the Mariner but had an oceanview. Anyone know which floors have the metal cove balcony bottoms & which floors have glass bottoms? Lots of discrepancies in my research. Thanks.
ASeaPrincess1 Posted June 24, 2010 #2 Share Posted June 24, 2010 All the balconies on Mariner, port and starboard sides, are glass, not metal. No cave balconies there...:D Enjoy the Mariner. I am so sad she is being taken away from LA..........:(
lady_cruiser Posted June 24, 2010 #3 Share Posted June 24, 2010 .....Enjoy the Mariner. I am so sad she is being taken away from LA..........:( I am sorry for you too :( but I am so happy that Galveston is getting another RCL Ship. :p I love The Voyager and her staff so I am double happy :p :p. Because since I live half way between the Port of Galveston and the Port of New Orleans I can sail on the Mariner and still sail on The Voyager and visit all the friends I've made there over the last several years. Pack My Bags Posted August 14, 2010 Author #4 Share Posted August 14, 2010 Thanks folks... Read that the Navigator & Mariner OTS are the last 2 of the Voyager clas where the balconies were built OUTSIDE of the superstructure... The Voyager, Explorer & Adventure all have cove balconies of metal. But the Mariner & Navigator are glass for more viewing & a more open fell. firefly333 Posted August 14, 2010 #5 Share Posted August 14, 2010 RCL doesnt call these cove balconies though ... thats a Carnival term for their newest ships.
akcruz Posted August 14, 2010 #6 Share Posted August 14, 2010 RCL doesnt call these cove balconies though ... thats a Carnival term for their newest ships. I think they meant cave like. The original voyager class ships (Voyager, Explorer and Adventure) have balconies built inside the superstructure of the ship making them quite cave like. Depending on itinerary that can be good, or somewhat claustrophobic.
