Newbie Solo Traveler booked on Constellation 12/2011

Hi, I'm a solo lady traveler who will turn 60 (!) next year and I'm planning a 14 day cruise on Constellation. I've been on Holland America to Alaska, and both Seabourn and Silversea to the Caribbean. I figured this will be a pretty nice birthday gift, *lol* considering the number of years I will have accumulated. I also expect it might be the last time I get to go scuba diving, which is something I love to do. Does anyone know if Celebrity has diving among the shore excursions you can take?

I understand the Constellation has formal nights and that is a happy thing, since Seabourn discontinued formal nights on their Caribbean itineraries...oh....and I also can't afford them anymore! They are now way out of my league.

Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and if anyone out there has traveled on any of the lines I've been on previously, I'd love to hear your advice/experiences about Celebrity. I know this is pretty far ahead of time, but you know how it is when you book a cruise, the excitement starts then.

Thanks!

Jane

I think Celebrity is great for solo women. I've been on X many times, and I can say I've always had positive experiences. Hopefully, Lois, who also cruises X as a solo, will see your thread and will also give her expert opinion.

Hi Jane, welcome to Celebrity:) I have seen your posts on the solo

forum over the years.

Darcie is right, I sail solo all the time and always have a wonderful time:D

I can't give you a comparison because I have never sailed the "luxury

lines" before but I love Celebrity. The one thing (which I am sure you are

already aware of) is the size of the ships....your "Yacht's" are much,

much smaller than Celebrity's ships.

Hope you have a great cruise:)
