Buying bottle of vodka on board??

We would like to have a bloody Mary on our balcony in the mornings. And I was planning to "rum runner" a bottle on board. I just got our documents and it says that they will escort us off the ship if we are found with alcohol "snuck on the ship". So... Can we buy a bottle and mixer (not a whole package) on board? We're going on Celebrity Constellation. Anyone know??

It does say that about the liquor, but what they do if they find it is confiscate it. If it is in an unopened bottle, they will give it back to you at the end of the cruise. If it is opened and put into something else, they will dump it. (Been there; got it dumped.) They used to let you buy it and consume it on the ship, but not any more. You can buy bottles of liquor on the ship, but they will not let you have it till the night before disembarkation.

The escorting off the ship is only a threat. We use Rum Runners without a problem. You certainly can buy a bottle of vodka but the Bloody Mary Mix I am not sure of, however you would be able bring that aboard without an issue.

You can't buy duty free liquor and have it in your cabin..... it will be delivered to you the last night.

On HAL, you can buy a bottle of liquor from room service or from a bar and bring it to your room. It will be 'bar price' but you will have it for your enjoyment in your cabin when you wish to drink it.

For the extra $10 or whatever it is that might be saved by dragging your own, buy it from the ship and enjoy it. :)

JMHO.....

You should cruise on HAL.

We always buy a bottle for our verandah -- love to have a drink out there in the afternoon.

With HAL they actually have quite a large selection that you can buy -- cost more than Duty Free but way less than if you order drinks at the bar. Alcohol is even listed on HAL's website under gifts, or you can order through Ship Services or through room service or you can go to a bar and order a bottle.

Just pack a bottle in your checked luggage.

Carnival has gotten more savvy about checking luggage for liquor. But they will sell you a bottle for your cabin at twice the price of duty free still not a bad deal to have legal liquor in your room the bloody mary mix you can take in your luggage as long as it contains no alcohol.I don't think any cruise line would boot you for snuck on liquor.I can't see them kicking off a returning customer for a $20 dollar bottle of booze I do know they will pour it out if they find it.

When you sneak the bottle of liquor aboard by whatever method you use, how much money are you saving? Do you save $15?

Is that worth risking the bottle leaking/breaking and ruining your clothes and maybe that in someone else's suitcase that might be next to yours?

Is it worth being embarrassed if caught?

I'd be humiliated but that is just me.

OP talks about rum runner not a bottle. So that is not the issue.

OP to get the best answer to your question. visit the Celebrity board and do a search on rum runner or smuggle. You will get others experiences on Celebrity and some opinions too I bet :).

Was on Celebrity Infinity in January, and bought bar set-up on Celebritys web page before the cruise.

Could choose different types of liqour, beers and sodas, including peanuts.

Will be delivered to your cabin on you first night.
