Are bottles in luggage permanently confiscated ?

Recommended Posts

I am pasting as a new thread a question I posted in a thread on a related topic because I now see it will be overlooked in that other thread.

I really don't want to get into a debate about smuggling booze on board, not do I seek to hear from those who want to condemn (or support) those who try to evade cruiseline restrictions re bringing bottles of wine/booze on board. What I am concerned about is whether, as the RCCL online FAQs expressly provide (though not expressly so provided in the Guest Conduct Policy) bottles of alcohol will be confiscated if found in luggage and not returned. This in addition to being denied boarding (which I have never ever heard done).

I favor some pretty expensive booze and wine which I would not like to forfeit although I could easily live with it being confiscated and returned to me at the end of the cruise. Can someone inform me whether RCCL really permanently confiscates wine/booze discovered in luggage?
