What do you do late at night on Celebrity Cruise?

My DH and I have sailed Celebrity a few times. I love Celebrity so much, but I find the entertainment in the evening can be a bit slow.

I might just be missing something so I must ask:

What do the late nighters do on a Celebrity cruise?

What are my entertainment options?

Thanks for the replies, I look forward to hearing them.

On Equinox this past December the late nighters tended to gravitate towards the following three venues: The martini bar, the casino and the outdoor bar in the Lawn Club. While Celebrity does not have much staff led activities late at night, on my cruise these areas were still popping when I would head off to bed.

I suppose it depends on a couple things. First, what do you consider "late" and second, what you consider entertainment. What's entertaining to you may put another passenger to sleep and vice versa.

I find that Celebrity is NOT the best as far as late (and I mean AFTER midnight) night entertainment. Their live bands are mostly geared to the older passengers and it's quite mellow by my standards and in addition, they are done playing by 11PM or midnight.

Disco (or the more contemporary music venues) are usually not very well attended and the bands (when they have a live bad there, that is) are not so good. They used to have great bands at night but those times are gone.

So, to sum it up, you haven't been missing much.

One thing I wish Celebrity would do would be to have a piano bar like the Schooner Bar on Royal or like the piano bar on Holland America. Both of these lines have piano players/singers that play a variety of music that appeals to all ages and interact with the audience, sometimes do some kareoke and often play songs people sing along with. It is a fun, energectic venue for late night entertainment on those ships. I think Celebrity would do well if they had this type of entertainment in Michaels from 10pm-2am or what not. It would provide another venue that appeals to the younger demographic and help boost the limited late night entertainment concerns many have.

We would definately use something like this! Normally, after later seating, we walk for a bit, then relax on our balconey. Not much else going on that we are interested in.

Agree! IMHO Not a whole lot going on late night and the few things that are going on are not well attended!

Also not sure what is meant by "late" but this is how I answered a similar question on a Roll Call:

We do late seating dinner so are seldom out of there before 10.30ish and we like to dance so it's usually Rendezvous Square till the band leaves at midnight. We also like Michaels Club if there is a good pianist/singer and it tends to go on a bit later, perhaps about 12.30. There will be multiple venues with entertainment till close to midnight, usually there is a string quartet a guitarist and an A-Capella group somewhere.

On formal evenings the show for late dinner is usually after, at about 10.45. The only real late night venue is the disco which will go on till the wee hours if there is a demand, very active some cruises dead on others.

There is usually karaoke a couple of evenings.

Hope this helps.

I usually do late seating for dinner too, and like to go to the show (and I HATE when they schedule the shows before dinner!!) then take my $20 to the casino to play roulette. I do wish X had something like Princess' "Movies Under The Stars" which was a very nice alternative to just hanging out in a bar somewhere. Although I would find the jumbotron tv to be an annoyance during the day by the pool. Oh well! But a few different late night options would be good!

I was on the same Equinox as you in December and spent many evenings in Michaels listening to Geoff Tozer on the piano and singing. He was there almost every night from 9 until I left to go to bed, scheduled to 1.

Michael's Club did have a piano player pretty much every night on our Equinox cruise as well. Unfortunately, I never saw a single person go in there to listen to him. We would spend our time in the Ensemble lounge, and just poking our head into MIchael's club you could see it was empty so we didn't want to go in. Not sure why this is. Michael's Club looks very "stuffy" - expensive scotches?, the decor, the fact the doors are sometimes closed. Just not very inviting. I think it you moved the piano player to Ensemble lounge, he'd be able to get quite a crowd.

We spent some nights up in the Sky observation lounge and one night at the Martini Bar, where the bartenders were quite entertaining with all their tricks and pouring techniques.

Aside from the Casino, there's no other real "activities", at least none that we found. One night we wanted to do some dancing and tried going to Quasar, but it was filled with teeny boppers and Miley Cyrus/Justin Bieber songs.

There were a couple "interactive" parties, whatever that means - Ibiza night up on the pool deck - way fun. And I think there was another dance party at some point during our cruise as well.

Yes, Michael's Club does have a pianist currently, but on both my Century and Equinox cruise the style of music was not something that would appeal to a younger demographic (my wife and I are in our 30s). The style of the piano bar/player on both Royal Caribbean and Holland America was one that was appealing to all ages. I would like to see Michael's Club have that style of entertainment for the late night crowd.

How does the disco work on the S class??

Is it late at night?

The S class has Quasar....it is a nightclub with a DJ. There is also

the Sky Observation Lounge which is all the way forward upstairs.

Not sure how busy either venue is but I know the Sky is much larger

in size. During the day you can sit inside and the view out the windows

is lovely. The stage is large enough for the band.

I will be on board Solstice in 4 weeks and I never have a problem

during the evenings...the Martini Bar seems to call my name quite

often;):D

While we go to sleep pretty early, especially on port intensive cruises, we had our adult daughter with us on the Eclipse in May. There was a GREAT band she introduced us to called, "The Frontliners" and they were amazing! Best band ever and they could play and sing ANYTHING. They would alternate between the Centrum (early evening) and the Sky Observation Lounge late in the evening. Lots of cruisers dancing to the beat, young and old. The lead singer, Winnie, could sing as well as some of the big names out there. If you are lucky enough to have them on your Celebrity ship, you have to go listen to them!

I just love Schooner's on RCCL. Celebrity doesn't have anything like this?

Sleep. I've got to get my rest for the next day's adventures.

This describes our plans.

When at home, the four of us are usually in bed by 10 or 1030, and with busy excursions planned, I doubt seriously we will stay up any later while on the ship.
