Miami precruise advice?

We're flying into Miami on Friday before our Sunday departure. We've got cheap rates at the Intercontinental for the 2 nights. Any advice on things to do for the day Saturday? Neither of us have spent any amount of time in Miami. Is it possible to do much without a rental car? Airboat rides, South Beach? Thanks,

One thing I would do is to take a taxi over to South Beach which is only around a 15 minute drive. You could have lunch and walk around there or have dinner there and walk around. It's a fun place.

There are many boat tours of the area islands and homes. Art deco and S. Beach tours too. Lots depends on the weather and what you want to do.

Nothing is near the IC where you will be staying. Other than Bayside mall. Chain restaurants, a few shops etc.

You want to head across the bay to Miami Beach area.

I'd also get the heck out of downtown and head to South Beach. I would rent a couple of beach chairs and an umbrella up by the Ritz Carlton/Delano and use their beach service for drinks etc. I would then spend the late afternoon at the Delano pool bar.

 

Two tips, the pool scene goes until about 7PM so walk into the hotel through the front door and head out back to the pool. If there are any celebs by the pool, they will not let anyone in through the beach access. Also, after five, they do not let men in the front door in shorts.
