dsw39 Posted August 26, 2010 #1 Share Posted August 26, 2010 We are looking at an excursion between cruises to Montserrat! The driving distance is about 37 miles from Barcelona. With a 4.5 hr tour, how much time would we have in Montserrat. Dave

dsw39 Posted August 26, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted August 26, 2010 We have driven the distance in about 45 min. Hank Hi Hank: Thanks that will give us 3 hrs to explore ! Did you go to the top of the mountain and is it worth it. Dave
Rare Hlitner Posted August 26, 2010 #4 Share Posted August 26, 2010 We toured the Monestary and then did take the funicular/cable car up to the top of the mountain where, if the weather is clear, there are some gorgeous views. There are also a number of walking trails in the area for walkers, but with three hours you will be limited to the Monestary and funicular. As to whether its "worth it" we think that is simply one of those personal decisions. Once you are there and see the setting you will know if its for you. SunnyLawyer Posted September 1, 2010 #6 Share Posted September 1, 2010 Its bt 45 mins each way but be aware of traffic delays! also try to go up the back side of the mountian and down the front on your way out.We did a private tour and it was interesting that way to see the different views. Youll have plenty of time up there but dont go during rush hour- we went in the morning and it was perfect!!
