Ken Rush will be our Cruise Director on Dec 1st sailing.:D

I was told Ken Rush has been in Finland getting the ship and staff ready. He will sail it across the Atlantic and be onboard in Dec/Jan.

He is going to be full-time on Allure. He told us at a Meet & mingle on the Oasis in June.

On our Oasis cruise in June, that was Ken's last week to be on as cruise director. They had a big fairwell video in the Aqua Theater. He told us once we docked he would be getting off to head to Finland. Other crew members were leaving as well that week to go home for a bit and then head to Finland for training on the Allure. We talked to a gal who worked at the outdoor bar on the Boardwalk and told us about the training and how it all works. She had been asked to be a part of the Allure and was taking that contract. I think mostly they try to recruit those who are top notch. It sounds like they really run them through the paces to get ready for this assignment.

We are booked on the Christmas cruise. Is Ken Rush funny? I just read about Richard Spacey (I think that's his name) on the Oasis. People really seem to enjoy him. I wonder if he'll be moving to the Allure....

^ People have their opinions abut KR. He certainly has been with RCI for many years; he was CD on our very first cruise in 1993.

 

He is competent, fairly friendly, and professional, IMO. I wouldn't call him "funny".

Thanks for the replies... We had Richard Spacey on the Oasis and he was GREAT!! I have seen a few You Tube clips of Ken Rush... There didn't seem to be a comparison.... I was secreatly hoping it would be Spacey!!!

I love Allan Brooks. In my opinion the most underrated CD with RCI. Love Richard Spacey too. For me, it's Richard first, Allan second. Ken Rush doesn't even make my top 10 but many here seem to love him.

That and the fact they have one heck of a party during the crossing! No passengers ... just training by day and partying HARD by night!!! :D

Is there any media onboard for the transatlantic crossing? Also, do u think they will have videos of the crossing like they did on Oasis?

If I can't have Richard Spacey for my Jan 2 sailing, I would love to have Allen Brooks! He was CD for Freedom OTS couple years back and I thought he was really funny! I agree, Allan Brooks is the most under rated CD at RCI.

I think it was on the Freedom of the Seas, her name was Chloe or Flo? She always had everyone go Hello Chloe or was it Flo? Anyone know where she is now??? She was excellent!

Love Allan Brooks.....he was our first cruise director on the Explorer back in 2006. Then Bingo Boy Dave Chapman came along and wow....he is my favorite by far but I love Jimmy Rhoades too....As much as i have read about Ken Rush I sure hope he is as good as everyone says he is.
