Orator Posted September 12, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 12, 2010 Doing a B2B leaving from Port of Miami. Trying to decide best way to get there from Boca. Thinking about Tri Rail to Ft Lauderdale Airport and then shared ride to POM. Would it be better to go to Miami Airport and then a cab to pier? Usually drive, but $280 for two weeks of parking is quite high. Any suggestions will be appreciated and carefully considered.

Have you considered going down the night before, staying in a hotel with free parking and a shuttle to the pier? I would bet that you could get that for half the price of parking...EM
phinn Posted September 12, 2010 #3 Share Posted September 12, 2010 I'm curious about the tri-rail myself for future travel to port. Don't know how I would get to port when leaving rail station.
Orator Posted September 12, 2010 Author #4 Share Posted September 12, 2010 There is a free shuttle bus from the station to the airport. Hotel opinion is a good possibility.
krm55 Posted September 12, 2010 #5 Share Posted September 12, 2010 The Tri rail will get you to Miami for under $6. I imagine a cab to the port is the same as the fare from the airport around $25.
Orator Posted September 15, 2010 Author #6 Share Posted September 15, 2010 Thanks. Might be the best way to go.
Highlander Posted September 15, 2010 #7 Share Posted September 15, 2010 I have done the Trirail a few times and really like it. We have gone from WPB & FLL airport, in all cases it was really relaxing. When you get to the end of the line at MIA there are cabs usually waiting outside to take you to the port. The fare last Feb was $25 one way. The other thing we have done is to rent an Alamo car at FLL (usually through Priceline) drive to the Alamo station near MIA airport. They then have free drop-off and pick-up at the port. Cheers,
