Top of the Bridge on the Ships

Some are not accessible to passengers.

Usually when the ship is in port, but not when it is sailing as it is too windy then.

oh okay cause for the first 2 or 3 ports i was on the bridge of the Caribbean Princess but in st john the door was locked, weird

It's a great place for sailaway, and we've usually found it unlocked for at least a while after we leave each port.

On the Ruby we found the inner door unlocked but the yellow tape was across even in the ports.

 

I assumed this meant that the Captain and/or bridge crew didn't want to be bothered by foot traffic right over their heads and thusly respected the restriction.

 

Too bad though, I would have died to be up there for the Venice sailaway!

We always book cabins on the Lido deck. One, for that reason. We love going on top of the bridge for sailaway. It's such a great place to be when leaving port. Best place to take pictures. I have noticed, however, that the doors seem to be locked when out at sea. It is way too windy and can be dangerous.
