CRUZCOOL Posted September 15, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 15, 2010 I remember when Royal Caribbean would post something on their website about what certain ships are doing to avoid bad weather situations. I could not find this on the website this morning. Any help in finding this would be great. Thanks :)
39august Posted September 15, 2010 #2 Share Posted September 15, 2010 If there are weather updates, they will be on the web site home page. There are none at this time.
CRUZCOOL Posted September 15, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted September 15, 2010 Ok, thanks for info. I figured there would be something since there are 2 cat 4 hurricanes in the caribbean at the moment.
AlanAllyn Posted September 15, 2010 #4 Share Posted September 15, 2010 NO, they are not in the Caribbean. They are well out in the Atlantic. Igor is threatening Bermuda over the weekend, but there are no RCCL ships there at that time.
RadMom43 Posted September 15, 2010 #5 Share Posted September 15, 2010 I'm worried about this also. We sail out of Port Canaveral on Sept. 26th to the Eastern Caribbean. Yikes!:(
CRUZCOOL Posted September 15, 2010 Author #6 Share Posted September 15, 2010 We sail out on Oct 9 and last time we sailed, we missed Puerto Rico because of a hurricane. I am really looking forward to the ports so I hope we don't miss any this time around.
bouhunter Posted September 15, 2010 #7 Share Posted September 15, 2010 I'm worried about this also. We sail out of Port Canaveral on Sept. 26th to the Eastern Caribbean. Yikes!:( Likely no need to worry about the weather, just that they might take you to some ports you hadn't planned on. Unless of course a hurricane heads for the east coast of Florida near your departure date:D
dmdiver Posted September 15, 2010 #8 Share Posted September 15, 2010 I've been checking multiple times daily. If I end up going north instead of Bermuda, I want to know in time to pack some warmer clothes. Oh well, if not I will definitely have a reason to go shopping in port! bethaniesmom Posted September 15, 2010 #10 Share Posted September 15, 2010 just be aware that while you might not be effected directly by the hurricanes....we sailed one year between two without any trouble, but found ourselves in a horrible backlog of flights trying to get out of Miami to get home, and then Atlanta was backed up because of other backups on the east coast. so while we had no problem with the hurricane that passed san juan two days before we got there and no problem with the hurricane that was due to arrive there in another two days...we were still ten hours late getting home because of airport delays! have a great trip! Whether or not the cruiselines update their weather advisories in a timely fashion, each of us needs to monitor weather reports from all news sources so that we can make some reasonable assumptions as to the likely impact a tropical depression, storm or hurricane will have on our cruises. We shouldn't depend solely on the cruiseline's website especially since storms of this type can alter course rapidly and while RCI and other lines will make last minute changes as necessary, updating the website, important as that may be,may not be their highest priority.:)
DPurcell58 Posted September 15, 2010 #12 Share Posted September 15, 2010 We were just affected by Hurricane Earl, but the Captain took us to the Western instead of Eastern Caribbean and everything worked out fine. I know a Bermuda trip would be a different story.

MY cruise is not their highest priority? And all this time I thought I was special.
