Kruz Guys Posted September 24, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 24, 2010 My TA (Continental Airlines) just sent me an email with the following information. Can anyone that has been on a recent Celebrity Summit cruise verify this? Thanks for any information you may have. :( =================================================== Celebrity Cruise Line dos not have a wine list available prior to your cruise. Please accept my apology for any disappointment this may cause. Neither do they offer a luggage transfer from the pier to the airport. You will need to pick up your bags from customs and take them with you to the airport. You as guests in one of the Penthouse Suites are entitled to two free meals per person in the SS Normandie restaurant. You can make the reservations for those meals once you board the ship. I recommend that you make your reservation as soon as possible after boarding the ship as there are only a select amount of seats available and once the tables are full they will no longer be able to seat you. Rare cruisestitch Posted September 24, 2010 #4 Share Posted September 24, 2010 From the Celebrity Website FAQ. Note that the program can change at any time and might not be offered on your particular cruise. Also, not all passengers are eligible for this service.Luggage Valet Luggage Valet is a service we offer to help make your return travels as carefree as your cruise. The last evening onboard, you can receive your airline boarding passes, luggage tags and baggage claim checks. The last evening onboard, simply place your checked bags outside your door. We'll take care of the rest. From our ship, to your final destination airport - your luggage will be taken care of. And you won't wait in line at the airport for your boarding passes, because you'll already have them. Hassle-free travel. Designed for You. This service is available in select ports and with select airlines only. Ports: Fort Lauderdale, Los Angeles, Miami, Port Canaveral, San Diego, San Juan, Seattle, Seward and Vancouver. Airlines: Air Canada, Air Tran, Alaska Airlines, American, Continental, Delta, Jet Blue, Southwest Airlines, United and US Airways. Airline participation varies by port. AJD Posted September 24, 2010 #7 Share Posted September 24, 2010 We were not happy with Celebrity transfers when we used them in San Juan. As normal we had to find our luggage on debarking, go through customs then take our luggage to be loaded onto a large truck then find the bus that took us to the airport. At the airport the bus arrived first and we had to wait for the truck then find our luggage again from load disgorged from the truck. A taxi is far more efficient and, as I remember it, costs no more. John.
Rare cruisestitch Posted September 24, 2010 #8 Share Posted September 24, 2010 The luggage valet is a different operation altogether. You purchased a transfer from X, not the luggage valet.
AJD Posted September 24, 2010 #9 Share Posted September 24, 2010 cruisestitch, You're right, we had =X= Transfers rather than Valet but if the Valet service isn't available, as indicated, I thought it was helpful to quote our experience with Transfers.
