Solstice life-jacket BASKET question

So, I've seen photos of the under-the-bed wire basket that holds the life jackets. Question: does the basket remove entirely or is it attached to the bed? Why do I ask, you say? Our cabin will not have footstools on the verandah. If the basket is removable I'm thinking about flipping it over and propping my little feet on it!

Wouldn't it be easier to use one of your suitcases to "prop" your little feet on?

I considered that, or maybe a little waste can, but was concerned about it somehow blowing off. I figured a wire mesh basket wouldn't have much chance of being picked up by the wind!

They are not attached. Never thought about doing that. Let me know how it works.

That sounds like an excellent idea! Please come back and let us know how it worked. I don't know why they just don't provide those footstools on all verandas that have room for them.
