Rapid Reward madness

We've got two rapid-reward tickets on Southwest to use at the end of our L.A. to Miami cruise, ending Oct. 21. Southwest doesn't fly from Miami. No more RR tickets are available out of Fort Lauderdale on Oct. 21. The next option is a flight out of Orlando early on Oct. 22, which we have booked. Advice wanted: Rent a car at the cruise terminal and spend the 20 hours touring Central Florida or catch a shuttle from Miami to Orlando ($45 each) and sleep in the waiting room? Other ideas?

Get a hotel room in Orlando rather than sleeping in the terminal. Use a different airline. Try other Southwest cities - west palm beach, ft. myers, tampa bay, etc - for same day departures - especially west palm beach.

Thanks for the advice. West Palm Beach flights don't start until November. Orlando now out. The current solution: Split tickets out of Fort Lauderdale on Oct. 22. (DW with a carry-on going through Chicago to PDX; DH taking the luggage by way of Vegas.) We're now looking for a room in Fort Lauderdale.

Well, since there is a quite nice Hyatt inside the terminal at MCO, I would have thought that better than sleeping in the terminal area itself.

Not quite sure why the luggage has to go with only one person, with another having a carry-on?? Unless you are having to recheck it somewhere, which seems unlikely if you are just on WN.

Take the shuttle to Orlando and get a cheap hotel room there.
