I won $8400 on a cruise on the Carnival Liberty with my kids (DH had to work) in January. It was the Little Green Men slot with the stacked wilds. I have also won $200+ numerous times on the Wild Wolf/Wolf Run slots, also with stacked wilds.

They give you your winnings in cash, probably in the hope you will give it back. I was good, though; I put it allin the in-room safe and surprised my husband when we got home. Boy was he a happy camper!!

I hit $60 once, I think my partner hit $80 and $120. He's luckier than I am. Of course, most of the time we lose. Even when we hit a "jackpot", we only end up a few bucks ahead overall. Generally we limit ourselves to about $20-50 a piece for the whole trip before stopping. We can justify that as entertainment expenses since going to a movie or out to dinner would easily cost as much or more. But beyond that, we're not serious gamblers.

I am not much of a gambler but I allow myself a roll or two of quarters every night and then quit when they are gone whether I win anything or not. Last cruise on the Carnival Victory I won $340.00 and you would have thought that I hit the jackpot. I immediately quit, took my winnings and left.

All you need to do is look at the wall of "winnings" to see and understand how the casino works. About every 2 years someone hits $2500. And that bingo. That big NCL jackpot you hear about on every NCL cruise ($20,000) is hit only once every 3 years.

The casino is the best way for the cruise line to make money :)

I know someone who hit 6 figures on a slot machine on an RCI ship this summer on the 1st night of the cruise. It was amazing and our entire group was then treated like royalty the entire cruise. This person continued to hit 1-3k each night the rest of the cruise. I've never seen anything like it. Now I only play the penny and quarters as opposed to the high dollar machines, but, it can happen. This same person has been on NCL ships and done very well, but nothing like this summer.

Good luck to all of you!

Wow,Someone actually wins the $20,000.

I wonder what the casino makes on a typical 7 day cruise?

I saw a guy on the NCL Majesty (June 2009) who, while waiting for a Texas Hold-Em tournament to begin, put $20 into a slot machine and with one pull, won $1,000. It was one of the most amazing gambling stunts I've ever witnessed.

I'm probably living in a dream world, but wonder who has hit it big on the on board slot machines? Wonder what the highest paid jackpot has been???

I don't know what you mean by big, but I had a client that won $2500 on a Carnval cruise. The most I have won was a $100, no, I take that back, I won about $130 on a nickel machine on the Sun and about $140 on a Celebrity cruise. None were really jack pots, just constant wins over losses. The worst I ever saw were the slots on our 2 HAL cruises, even worse that the Spirit.

I only pay $.25 slots and when my $20 is gone I leave the casino. I can play for hours on the same $20 with little "hits" here and there to keep it going...However a few years ago I hit for almost $300 (again on a $.25 slot) and immediately left the casino, put the money into my "casino fund " envelope that was in the safe and played on their money for the rest of the cruise..
