Dumb question about Mega bucks slot.

I keep hearing about the jackpot winners on these progressive machines..does anyone win just normal pots on these? Has anyone won a decent amount on one before?? Yeah..you guessed it..newbie to slots! ha

The progressive slots on ship's are NOT like the progressives on land....winning anything major is rare!

You will not find an IGT Megabucks machine on a cruise ship, they are only found in Nevada casinos. It takes $3 per pull to be eligible for the jackpot. I have won as much as $750 per pull on them. If you don't play the $3, the most you can win is $5,000 or so.

There have been a number of instances in Nevada where someone "won" on Megabucks but with only $1.00 in the machine. I'll bet that they felt really good.

My mistake, I think the ones on the ships are called Mega Cash, I saw some winners on the Ocean players club page. I was just wondering if they were like the nornal ones that pay here and there, not neccessarily the jackpot! Thanks for the info. Taking a b2b on the Ecstasy in Dec. thought I would play it awhile!

Yes progressive jackpot machines also have smaller winning combinations that pay here and there. But since a portion of each coin that goes in has to be reserved to pay jackpots, theoretically the smaller payouts hit slightly less often. Since winning on a slot machine is a random event that may or may not be anyone's individual experience just what happens in the long run. You can walk up pull once and hit the big one. Good luck. It is almost always a bad idea not to play max coin on a slot machine.

Agree on the max coins..I usually just play the quarter machines and I have won a decent amount on last three cruises so kinda hate to change machines! May play some just to try it, but will prob. stick to the ones that were good to me! lol
