NCL Epic Casino Comps in Depth Questions

I would like to pick the brain of those who have done some serious "gaming" and received comps on NCL Epic.

My questions are:

#1 What level of play gets free drinks?

#2 What level of play begins to result in room comps?

For example i know if I go to Aria for example and play $150/hand BJ for 4 hours a day, they will comp my room...maybe some meals and other items if I have some additional machine play.

Anyone have experience getting gambling-based comps on NCL? Epic? Specific stories?

Thanks!

Same BJ as over on Vegas boards?

Welcome.

You will find they are rather tight compared to Vegas, but will take care of big spenders. And, like Vegas, they prefer slot players.

If you book via the CAS group, you may get a discount, and get a drink card. New unknown players usually have to get xx points first, then they get a drink card. At your level of play, get to know the pit/casino mgr and they will probably take care of drinks. Just know that until they know you, they are just plain tight. You should be okay as they really do not see players at that level often. I usually see the $50+ table empty.

If you have HET Diamond, you are already in luck as they partner with them, but players clubs are NOT connected. http://www.harrahs.com/NCL/

Room comps - generally are given for return trips. At your level, I would guess you would get some meal perks - but then again, the cover charge in the pay restaurants are only $20-$30 anyways.

As a mid-high slot player, I have gotten a few hundred in SPA stuff.

If you play at that level, you may get invited back and get a suite, and suite life on NCL is nice.

If you do a search on CASINO, you will find some more.

thanks Gary,

I forgot to subscribe to this topic and re-asked similar questions under another topic before I remembered I'd asked and found your response. sorry about that.

I'm not 100% I'm the BJ you are referring to from the Vegas message boards, but I might have posted a TR or two over there. ;) How do you think the H&B yell will go over on "formal" night?

of course if I am and you happen to read my trip report you'll know how much pain I went thru on my last vegas trip not to blow my cruise bankroll. then again had I not blown my vegas bankroll the first 2 nights of a 5-nighter it wouldn't have been an issue.

thanks again for the welcome and the info!

I wonder what kind of cuckoo question is this? Anyone who gambles at that level is losing their shirt, and could not care less about paying for drinks.

sorry if it was a stupid question. it sounds like perhaps the gaming rules are a little worse than typical vegas casinos?

For example at Aria they have double deck $50 tables with a house advantage of 0.27% which is an expected loss of $20.25 per hour at the $150/hand level I mentioned. If drinks are $15 and one downs two per hour, you are coming out ahead, assuming you are properly bankrolled of course.

I get the impression the gambling conditions/rules are pretty bad onboard and not a lot of serious players put in much action due to the inflated disadvantage. Also Gary mentioned the comps are tight so perhaps its best just to take the 20% diamond discount and stay by the pool.

If you are the same BJ that posts on over at the Vegas message boards, then sitting by the pool is NOT going to be okay for you.

For those that are so busy being logical mathematicians, you do not understand why people gamble. Skip the logic and let us be crazy. Thanks.

Comps might be tight, but Blackjack is still Blackjack.

And, since you booked via your Diamond card, you will get free drinks in the casino from the start.

As to keeping an eye on this posting, or any other. Well, you will find currrent day postings will slide to the 2nd page in a hurry. Many of the posters seem to have a problem reading what is right in front of them. It is not unusual for somebody to ask the same questions somebody else asked an hour ago. (or less)

good to know I am getting drinks free upfront for diamond. I'll pare back my bar setup order by a bottle of goose in that case. the only thing left to decide is the breakdown of remaining bankroll between this trip and The Cosmo opening in Vegas in December. will probably make that on the fly and fully influenced by the "goose".

If this pic below is the BJ you know from the other boards then that is me!

Since the actual cost to the casino is likely $1.50 or less for that $15 drink, guess who is really coming out ahead... (not to mention if they get you to drink enough of those buck fifty drinks you ain't gonna be sober enough to play perfectly)

Believe me, there are lots of mathematicians who gamble.

As a scientist who gambles based on odds, I agree 100%! When I was in grad school I read up on the odds on Vegas games and learned proper blackjack play, some special techniques, and craps play/odds. But in spite of that, there seems to be an element of luck and superstition--for instance, every time I sit at a table with someone who makes a total idiot play--splitting 5's, not hitting a soft "stiff"--I can't win a hand after that play!
