MikeNKim Posted October 23, 2010 #1 Share Posted October 23, 2010 Could someone please advise which hotels are closest to the port area. How far is the airport to the port. Thank you Kim
riffatsea Posted October 23, 2010 #2 Share Posted October 23, 2010 The airport is about a 30 min. taxi ride depending on traffic. The port is right in the city of Barcelona so it is not really necessary to be at a hotel on the water. Any hotel in the center of town will be an easy taxi ride to the port. I believe that hotels near Placa Catalunya(the main square) are the most convenient for first time visitors to the city. There are many of them and you can read about them on web sites like Trip Advisor --which is a sister site to this one with forums, hotel reviews etc. You can also read on a booking site like http://www.venere.com which is used a lot in Europe. I often compare the reviews on that site to those on Trip Advisor before I make my hotel choice.
manateemike67 Posted October 24, 2010 #3 Share Posted October 24, 2010 Somebody posted this site on here not long ago. It has lots of great information about Barcelona. Also has a great map of hotels, you can click on what star rating you would like and then the area you would prefer to stay in.

riffatsea Posted October 26, 2010 #8 Share Posted October 26, 2010 llevy13, What does "cheap' mean to you in dollars or euros?? Everyone has different ideas of what that means. There are many good hotel choices and prices are different at different times of year. We stayed at the Onix Rambla and the first time it was only 90euro for 2 including bkfast. The 2nd time it was more sooooo perhaps use http://www.venere.com you can put in dates and budget and they will show you possibilities The best area IMO is anywhere near Placa Catalunya--central square
