We are staying for a couple days after a cruise. One of our party wants to be near las ramblas, others want to be near the beach. I know it will be cold in November, but still like the water. Any suggestions?

Do they want water views or do they want to be able to walk at the beach?? You could walk to Las Ramblas and to the beach from most hotels in the old part of the city.

The W Hotel probably has Med views but is not right at a beach. The Hotel Arts has gorgeous views and is near the beach but is QUITE expensive!!

Goto this page which has a handy map of Barcelona and most (not all) hotels. Just click on the area you want and a new map with the hotels marked appears. Lots and Lots of other helpful information on that site as well.

  • 2 weeks later...

I just got back from BCN and stayed at Hotel Arts I did not think it was that expensive. Nov is off season so maybe you can geta good rate. I am now addicted to this hotel, it is amazing. I go on a cruise every year out of Barcelona usually stay at Le Meriden which I also love, but I gamble this hotel is adjacent to the casino in a nice area and close to beach. Can't wait to go back:D

Hi

Check out the Marina View B&B- you won't get a better welcome anywhere

Right oposite the Marina Complex, just down from Christopher Columbus, less than 2 mins from La Rambla and walking distance to the beach.

Check it out on Trip Advisor Web Site

We stayed (Nov 6,7)at the Grand Marina, block from our cruise terminal and block and a half from Las Ramblas. The Grand Marina is about a two block walk to beaches (I ran along the beach for 5 miles each morning--wonderful, marked with walking/jogging/bicycle trails). On check in they upgraded us to a huge suite at no charge...moderately expensive ($375/nite) but well worth it. Link below:

I find it interesting what some people regard as "moderately expensive"!
