Less Princess Presence in Mexico

I was reviewing the Princess schedule and noticed that only 1 ten day and 14 seven day cruises are scheduled for the Mexican Riviera in all of 2011.

 

With 16 Princess ships sailing a total 832 weeks........15 / 832 equals less than a 2% commitment to the Mexican Riviera cruises.

I haven't checked but that sounds about normal for Princess. Instead, they have one long R/T cruise out of LA plus a few coastals, which are new. HAL has more MR cruises than Princess and have for a while.

What is bizarre, I looked at a 10 day cruise out of SFO to Mexico in September and this cruise was booked many months in advance! This was on the Sea Princess. I think if they want to fill ships, put them in SFO.

With the recent violence in Mexico, cruise ships are making fewer calls there.

I'd love it if they would do a repeat of the "Swine Flu" itinerary, and do a 7-day RT............LA/SF/Seattle/Victoria BC/LA route.

The coastals they have planned go to Ensenada.

It would be nice to see Canada instead of Mexico once in a while.

I see where Mexico passed a law to make people use Pesos instead of US $$. Trying to stop laundering.
