MIA to PHL - advance FF miles or cheap fares?

First of all thanks again for all the help figuring out my options from my one-way PHL->BCN routing. I have to wait till Thanksgiving before I can book, but at least I know what I want!

 

Now, for the return - that will be around November 2, 2011, which I think is an off-season. Am I better off to hold off and look for low cost fares online up until close till the date, or to use 12.5k American miles for the flight back? I would think there are pretty cheap airfares for that time but don't know, I usually book as soon as I make plans to be sure I don't have a problem!

That is a fairly short flight. Don't think I would my miles for that. IMHO.
