F22Smitty Posted December 4, 2010 #1 Share Posted December 4, 2010 At the craps table on our last cruise in Oct. the stick man (and I mean all of them) were raking and setting one of the dice with six up. If I threw a 2-3 it would come back to me as 6-3, 5-3 would come back as 6-3, 5-5 would come back as 6-5. There would always be a 6 showing when they gave me the dice. I never threw the dice as given to me, but I just wondered why they always gave me the dice with a 6 showing. What is the reason of the stick man setting the dice? cb at sea Posted December 5, 2010 #2 Share Posted December 5, 2010 I don't know, but on our last cruise, the stickman kept setting the dice to 7 and EVERYONE was getting upset. Hubby finally called the pit boss to complain, and most folks took their bets off the table, until the stickman was replaced!

HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO cb at sea: Regardless of how the stickman gives you the dice just reset them to the configuration you want then roll them. MrCo9 Posted December 12, 2010 #4 Share Posted December 12, 2010 Sounds like that stickman did not know that he lives off the generosity of the players. That or he owned the casino. Not even to a Don't Player will I send the dice on a total of 7, unless it's requested. I also try not to send them on any of the horn numbers as a lot of players consider them to be unlucky as well. Depending on the casino, some require the stickman to tyrn 1 or both dice after they are brought to the top of the prop box and to separate them, so that the boxman can see at least 3 of the sides. HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO F22Smitty: I have had stickmen return dice to me with how I set it showing. For example: If I set the dice to have a hard eight showing that is how the stickman would return the dice to me. Or a hard six if I keep setting the dice to a hard six before I roll or a hard four. Stickmen will do this for certain players to keep the game moving. Also, some players might give a larger tip.
