supershuttle or taxi to airport?

A taxi would likely be faster as you would not be dependent on others and would not make multiple stops at the airport.

You may want to consider a private car though. Execuar is a subsidiary of super shuttle and order private car service. You can go to their web site at http://www.execucar.com and from there get the number for their southern california office to get a price quote.

We just returned from a cruise out of LA last week. Since our friends had an 11:40 flight, it was critical that we get to the airport as early as possible.

We arranged for a SUV to pick the 4 of us up (with lots of luggage) - it was $80 plus a mandatory 20% gratuity. The only hard part was trying to give them a pick-up time, since you really never know when you will get off the ship. We guessed at 8:45 and were delayed until 9:10 so we just communicated with them by cell phone. The driver showed up within a few minutes of making it to the curb. We had great service & wouldn't hesitate to use them again. Website was http://www.craigslimo.com

I have our Super Shuttle booked from LAX to Crowne Plaza, but didn't see how to book the return from the Sapphire Princess back to LAX after our cruise, any help? Or do we just go outside & try to find it?

We are doing the same -- SuperShuttle from LAX to the Crown Plaza. We also booked SuperShuttle from the World Cruise Centre in San Pedro back to LAX on disembarkation day. You can do it online at the SuperShuttle website. We've given them an estimated pickup time of 9-9:30 a.m. Or, just call them to book.
